Guest guest
Hi Everyone What has worked for everyone and what hasn't? I have just been on the Estrace for a week now. Just use it twice a week at bedtime. It does help a bit. I puchased some emu oil but unsure if anyone has used it in that area and/or the perineum. I am just red irritated inside. Thanks. I do use ice. Thanks, Debbie
Guest guest
If the estrace makes you sting, you may want to try estrogen from a compounding pharmacy. Estrace made sting too, so I had to use a different source if you want to use estrogen. Blueeberri Every night only when you experiencing a flare up or every night regardless? Do youuse the non drowsy formula? Chelle: Which OTC antiihistamine do you suggest?? I am experiencing a flare up and found estrace makes it sting. The calendula cream is soothing. Guest guest
Hi Debbie, if I start listing things I've tried, I'm afraid you would fall asleep! ;-) Anyway, when it comes to the Estrace - keep a few things in mind. 1.) It is not a 'quick' fix...it takes time to rebuild and nourish the skin. I didn't see results until I had been using it for a few months. 2). For some, the inert ingredients in Estrace may irritate, if so, then having Estradiol compounded in a soothing base may be the best way to go. Also, when I first began using Estrace topically, I used it everyday for the first few months. Then I went to using it twice a week after it began helping. Do you use it internally or externally? As for the Emu Oil, it can actually help the Estrace absorb into the skin better. Some use it to moisturize the area. An antihistamine can help with burning and inflammation. Of course, make sure it wouldn't interact with any current meds. Ice packs can help temporarily when the pain is bad....be careful, though, not to keep one on the skin for long periods of time. Guest guest
I use Benadryl every night...but with antihistamines, sometimes you have to experiment to find the one that works best for you. I used to use Hydroxyzine. It's a cheap older antihistamine, but it is only Rx. If I'm not mistaken, I think Zyrtec may be a derivative of Hydroxyzine (and it's over the counter now). Just make sure, though, that you aren't on any meds that could have interactions. Hope this helps...Chelle Chelle: Which OTC antiihistamine do you suggest?? Guest guest
I use it every night. Using antihistamines work best when they stay in the system. I always use one that causes drowsiness. The ones that cause drowsiness seem to work better (in my opinion). :-) Chelle Every night only when you experiencing a flare up or every night regardless? Guest guest
Hi Chelle, I use the Estrace on the inside of the labia and a little on the perineum. I think it helped a bit on Sunday night. I am only supposed to use it twice a week. I want the redness and irritation to go down before I would combine it with the emu oil which I haven't tried yet. I tried olive oil as prescribed by my dr and it seems to have made it worse. Thanks for your advice though. I do use a frozen herbal pad also. I know I will have to use it tonight because the pain is almost unbearable. Debbie > Hi Everyone > > What has worked for everyone and what hasn't? I have just been on the > Estrace for a week now.
