Guest guest
HEY bsmith.I live in Minnesota.....email me in private. I can maybe recommend some docs? Blueeberri Hi Chelle,Thanks for the input, and about the info re: Dr. G vs. Dr Marvel. As for stuff closer to the border, there doesn't seem to be much. I live in Winnipeg (which is in central Canada), so New England is not very close The closest place I can think of to me is the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota- I have been there, and I was not impressed with the doc. He was nice, but he didn't really take time to look at me or run tests. Next closest I can think of is Hope Haefner in Michigan- I've heard mixed reviews about her, and her wait list is something like six months. And in the Dakotas as well as Montana, there is absolutely nobody that I know of who specializes in vulvar pain syndromes.*Sigh*. I just want to get rid of this, and I know that I'll be waiting a long time in the Canadian system (like a year, most likely- I find out next week). My life is at a stand still thanks to this, so I thought maybe seeing someone in the States could speed things up ('cause I can't wait 12 months). I was happy to hear that Emma had such good success with Dr. G (and I know others have, too), so I thought maybe he'd be worthwhile to see.I will see what other info I can uncover on both these docs.B. I know you are thinking about seeing Dr. Marvel or Dr. Goldstein. Dr. G. is expensive, but he at least does understand that 'hormones' can be the culprit for the pain (or a part of it). I was thinking I read a response from someone who said Dr. Marvel ignored her complaints about a hormonal connection. I would think about calling them both or seeing if you can email with them, since you are out of the country. I wonder if there could be a specialist closer to the border that would be knowledgeable about the hormonal side of vulvar pain. Have you tried contacting the NVA for a list of specialists in the New England area? Just some thoughts...Hugs, Chelle All new Yahoo! Mail - Get a sneak peak at messages with a handy reading pane. Guest guest
Dr. Marvel does not like to answer questions by e-mail like some of the other doctors can. His reason he says is due to HIPPA. Carolyn mentioned this to me when she tried to ask him some questions by e-mail.
