Dear Molly

My ep was discovered on Oct. 31st and last friday I was given my third metho

shot- my levels are at 182. We are in practically the same situation. Has

your doctor been very helpful? This site has been so helpful to me in

finding answers and support. I know im not the only one out there now!!!!!

Im feeling fine now but just as i mentioned in earlier posts i feel like my

body is just not working right. I have no idea what caused the ep and am

scared it is just going to happen again. I do have a 3 year old daughter so

that does help me alot. I did more b/w today so we'll see on Monday where im

at. We just have to keep having faith.

Molly,

I am sorry for your loss but I am very happy to hear that your friends and

family are supportive, that is a very good thing. I know my friends and family

didn't really understand that I didn't just have " surgery " but I lost my baby!!

My dh and I had been trying. We found out right after Thanksgiving that I had an

ep and was given an metho inj but ended up with a rupture and required surgery

Dec. 10th 2000. I lost my baby and rt tube. It is definitely an emotional

rollercoaster. It is a living nightmare but time does heal. Everyone heals at a

different pace I guess but all you are feeling is normal. There were some days

I just didnt' want to get out of bed and if I seen a baby I would just lose it.

I still think of my angel baby all the time but it does get better. I found so

much comfortable and support here and loved hearing all the success stories,

that is what gave me hope to ttc. I hope you find that too. M

October 29th. After a weekend of severe pain, I went to the er. After hours

of confusion, they sent me back to my ob to get two methetextrate shots. I

was pretty much out of commission of the next two weeks. I went back to work

this week, but my levels are still at 158. My side still hurts, and I am an

emotional roller-coaster. How long will it take for me to feel back to my old

self? This was my first pregnancy, and we really were not trying. Once I

found out I was pregnant though, I was very excited. Now, I am just confused,

scared, and sad. I have a very supportive family and group of friends. I feel

like everyone at work is staring at me though. I am glad there is a support

group out there, and I would love to hear your advice, wisdom, and stories.

Thank you.

Thanks for the note . It is nice to hear I am not alone. I got bw done

yesterday. My levels are at 42, which is good news. I can't wait until I get

down to 5. I am starting to feel more like my old self a little more each

day, but I still get sad sometimes. I wonder why this happened. I want to

know if I had an infection or it is endometriosis or what. My doctors keep

calling it a fluke. I will have that HSG in February, after my body has

healed. I keep praying for every story I read here. I am glad I found this

group.

Thanks for the response Sheila. I am feeling a little better each day. The

main emotions now are confusion and fear. I am scared to ttc again because I

really do not want the physical and emotional pain of another ep. My sister

told me that that is normal at this stage in the game, and she is probably

right. Thanks for all the support. Have a happy holiday. Molly

Becky,

I am glad to hear your #s are going down. That is one step to be able to slowly

move on. Don't be hard on yourself, you will have days when you are going to

feel very sad but hopefully you begin to have some " not so sad " days too. It

takes alot of time to heal. There are still things that can just bring me right

back to the day I lost my angel baby too. It does seem that drs don't always

have an answer to as why this happened. My dr basically said the same thing, it

was a fluke!!! (whatever that is suppose to mean!) I hope your hsg goes well

and you get a good report. I know personally, I felt better getting one

done....it kind of gave me alittle piece of mind, which I needed at the time.

Keep us posted. M

Welcome!! 100 pounds is incredible, good for you! And congrats on

recommitting. I think you'll find plenty of support in this group,

like a huge network of personal weight loss buddies!!

Welcome, Leanne. And being nuts is a good thing. =+)

supportive to each other. I can relate to lots of you. Oh and I think

it's great for Rhonda fitting into her jeans. It gives you that

little boost. It reminds me of a time when I first walked up a

particular hill for the first time in years because of my weight and

health. I stood at the top and yelled " I did it! " . I was so happy,

although the people around probably thought I was nuts! But these

little things make it all worth while. Anyway, I just wanted to say

hello! Take care......Leanne

***hugs*** Welcome Missy, I think we all know what you're feeling,

and I hope you enjoy this group as much as I do. =+) I want to ask,

because of the feeling I got from your post, if you've considered

maybe getting some professional counselling/therapy. I'm thinking you

sound like you might be having some issues with clinical depression,

and you might benefit from looking into that along with the weight

loss. =+)

46 degrees sounds like heaven to me. I live in Missouri in the US

and for the past 3 days the high temp has been around 10 degrees

(sorry I don't know how to convert to celsius). By Friday it is

suppose to be in the 40's...thank goodness. Okay, this is going to

sound really ignorant of me but I did not realize that volleyball was

a sport played in Israel. That is really cool. Isn't it cool how

something like that can motivate us? Great job!

Hello. My name is and I have been reading everyones notes for a while and

thought I should introduce myself. I have done weight watchers in the past with

success in losing 50 pounds. I was 5 pounds away from my goal and found out I

was pregnant. 6 years later I am back, I started 7 weeks ago and have lost 17.8

pounds as of today. I love this program and it does work!!! I find a lot of

your stories and comments very inspirational and to anybody who is new to

this...just stick with it. It works and it is so worth it.

Hi , I'm , mom to Maggie who is now 15 (and driving!). Maggie has

a similar loss and was diagnosed at 3 3/4 years old. Her loss has flattened out

over time. She has done very well with digital hearing aids, FM for school and

auditory verbal therapy for a year at the time of her diagnosis. We are pretty

sure she had the loss from birth but of course this was before newborn screening

and when we brought our concerns to the pediatrician he poo pooed them for 3 3/4

years. She was an excellent lip reader and a very strong willed child who

didn't like being put down on the ground - she was unknowingly keeping herself

in earshot. Don't be deceived, being able to look like she is hearing you

doesn't mean she isn't HOH or doesn't need the hearing aids. Over the time she

wasn't diagnosed, probably developed incredible coping skills. A great

book to help you understand how the hearing loss works and how it affects brain

development is Carol Flexer's " Facilitating Hearing and Listening in Young

CHildren. " You can probably get it via interlibrary loan at your library. Glad

you found us!

I don't know about cookie-bite hearing loss (my son has the sloping kind

that

gets worse in the middle and high frequencies). But I know a bit about

" bad testers " ! It took us over a year, and 5 visits to 4 different

audiologists,

to get an audiogram that was definitive enough to get hearing aids. My son

was 2 while we were going through all this. Unfortunately, as the tests got

better, they showed his loss as worse :-(

We found that going to a facility that could provide TWO people for the

test was critical. One person runs the equipment, while the other sits

with Elias, makes the test into a game, and watches him carefully for

his responses. Actually, now that he is 4 and a half, and a pro at

audiological

exams, he can do it with one audiologist - but at age 2 and 3, two people

were needed.

Elias has moderate-to-severe bilateral loss. He could always hear us without

the hearing aids, but it was clear he was missing a lot, because he tended

to be very quiet, and his speech was incomphrehensible. Since he has

worn the hearing aids for a year, he has opened up a lot and his speech has

taken off. So clearly, he needed them.

It's amazing how everyone's stories sound so much like !

For a mod-mod-sev loss his speech was amazing...the first time we went

to the audi, she didn't turn up the sounds loud enough for him to hear

(we know this now...initially we thought he wasn't comfortable, didn't

like it..etc) when we went back, she was in shock...she couldn't

believe his speech...

Then we went to the ent...and he said, after talking to joey and before

looking at his charts... " So we think ph might have a mild

loss " ....then he opened the file and stared...and said " or moderately

severe loss... " and he just looked at for a minute...not quite

sure what to make of it...then he tested him at his office...and sure

enough...same thing...

He loves hearing screens now...he was actually excited to do it last

Friday at the ent....i think it was the highlight of his visit! (dork:)
