Guest guest
Thought I would post about the results of my 24-hr. urine iodide test (sent to Mayo by my endo). I had a gastric-area cat test last spring (due to stomach torsion from being hypo) and wanted to make sure the iodine was all gone before I did my thyca scan this fall. In prep for the urine test, I did LID for the week prior to the test. According to the posts on this list, it is optimum to have levels less than 80 or so. Mine read 24. I thought this was pretty interesting. I wonder what it would have been if I had not done LID. Thus I am going to go ahead with scanning. Last time I scanned, which was the first time for me, I did not use cytomel. This fall I am going to use cytomel and see, in comparison, if it is helpful. ---Jan
