Guest guest
I have a 6-week bran muffin recipe that we love, too. Anyway, when I make them I just sub splenda for sugar and mashed bananas for oil/crisco. Use equivalent measurements for both. I also buy fat free or low fat buttermilk, or I buy the powdered buttermilk that is fat free. I don't remember points on my altered recipe and I don't think I wrote them down. (Was looking for the recipe at Christmas.) Listmom Lyn Newbie need recipe Hi all, I just joined WW and this group. I am doing well with the program and have support at home and with friends. Since the plan allows for breads, I was wondering if anyone has a recipe for low fat bran muffins? My Grandma used to make some 6 week muffins that had buttermilk in them and they were so good. Thanks for any ideas for my baking needs. I would use spenda in them too, now. Thanks, Kathy in Tucson.
Guest guest
Kathy, I haven't tried these, but maybe you will and let us know how they are! Listmom Lyn KRUSTEAZ BRAN MUFFINS 3 Cups All-Bran Extra Fiber Cereal 2 1/2 Cups water 1 1/2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER 1 Box Krusteaz FF Banana Muffin (or any of the Krusteaz FF muffin mix flavors) Soak the All Bran in water for 5 minutes. Add the baking powder and muffin mix to the cereal. Mix well...will be kinda thick. Drop into muffin pans sprayed with Pam. Bake according to Krusteaz package directions. 18 muffins, 1 POINT each Be sure to use the Extra Fiber version of All-Bran. If you use regular All-Bran, you'll need to make 24 muffins to guarantee that they are 1 point each. Adding the All-Bran makes the mix a bit bland. I usually add some additional flavoring. If I'm making the FF Cranberry Orange muffins, I add about a teaspoon of orange extract and also grate some orange peel into the mix. Doesn't add any points Newbie need recipe Hi all, I just joined WW and this group. I am doing well with the program and have support at home and with friends.
