I seen her on 20/20 last night...now this is just my opinion and I have nothing

to back it up but it sounds like to me she had the gastric bypass surgery but

she won't say that she did...I don't think she's denied it either...I think she

just feels it's her personal business...which I agree with. So that's my

thoughts on that.

That was my impression also. She never denied or said that she did anything

else.

does any one else think her face is scary now that's she's lost so much

weight? i think her face looked prettier with a little more meat on it.

maybe that's just me.

i think i'd rather lose weight thro exercise and ww than be restrained

to eating 2 ounces at a time for the rest of my life.

She looks frightening if you ask me. Maybe if she changed her hair or toned

down the makeup a bit it would help. Her face is just so BIG for the rest of

her now!

I have been wondering about this as well. I saw her on The View the

other day and I couldn't decide if it was her or some new gal they had

gotten. I don't watch much TV anymore so it had bee a long time since I

had seen the program but I was sick in bed with nothing else to do.

Anyway, I was curious if it was her and if so what she did to loose the

weight so I checked out her website. All the website will tell you is

that you need to buy her book to find out her weight loss regimen. It

also says she exercises a lot and tells about her fabulous trainer and

all that good stuff. Personally I agree she looks a bit scary now...I

think it's her eyes....they look as if they are about to pop out of her

head. Not very nice of me to say... sorry. :o/ The rest of her looks

great but her face looks drasticly different. I was also surprised to

read that her " transformation " seems to have been a very fast one, it

doesn't sound like it has even been a year, so I was also wondering

about bypass surgery. Perhaps not though as there are plenty of people

out there that have lost a lot of weight quickly. Tory lost a 100lbs in

a year so it's very possible she did it with diet and exercise alone.

Could just be she has a good personal trainer and a chef cooking for her

like Oprah does. Ahhh, wouldn't it be nice... I'd take the chef over

the personal trainer though.... then again maybe a Martial Arts trainer

would be good. So far Martial Arts is the only exercise I have found

that I truly enjoyed. I like the exercise high from all that adrenaline

but convincing myself doing the exercise is worth the high is still a

really hard sell ;o)

My thoughts are if she " didn't " have surgery...wouldn't you say...No I've done

this with pure hard work? It seems like she's trying to keep it secret and

avoids the question...so that is another reason that makes me think she did.

I suspect that she's not admitting to it because she once said that she

would NEVER get weight loss surgery. Hey, people change their minds. I

don't see why she's not admitting to it. The weight has just melted off of

her so I think she had the bypass. Personally, I don't think I could get a

bypass because I like food too much. I'm also not overweight enough to be a

good candidate.

I agree with you. I think most of us that work our butts off exercising

and eating right to loose the weight have a definite tendency to toot

our own horns. I have no problem telling everyone I know how much weight

I lost and how. It was darn hard work (still is sometimes) and I am

proud of myself for succeeding. I have even dug out pictures to show to

my new friends (we moved a year ago) how fat I was. Most of my friends

are overweight and had a hard time believing that I was a fat girl :o)

It is also possible she won't say how she lost the weight in an effort

to sell more books. Like " if you really want to know how she lost the

weight buy the book " ....sure would make a good publicity stunt and sell

a lot more books.

You know, my head also looks too big for my body when I'm super skinny so I

understand this. My older brother told me this. Gotta love brothers -

they're always brutally honest. Looking back at pictures, I have to agree.

Barbara,

I think that we are just not used to looking at our self in this way

and therefore to our brains it appears unbalanced. We need to

remember that we are so used to looking at ourselves as overweight

that we can't imagine what it looks to really be like " normal "

weight. I'm sure you are beatiful in your new thin and healthy body.

Well, my “head too big for my body” time was when I was about 24. I’m now

42. Trust me - I’ve got a ways to go before I get back there. But that’s

fine. I’m taking it day by day, losing slowly but steadily and improving my

overall health in the process through exercise and better nutrition. I had

such a great moment yesterday. I am in a challenge on the WW boards to stay

OP and exercise 20 min/day. Last night I hadn’t exercised yet so I popped

in a abs tape. My 6YO lay down on the floor with me and did the exercises.

I love being a good role model for my children. They watch what I eat, what

I do, and it’s rubbing off on them. They talk a lot more now about healthy

choices. My 6YO ate ½ of a medium pizza on Friday night and we talked about

how on Saturday she’d have to make some healthier food choices. She did.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.

I think she looks great and I think she sounds great. When she weighted 300

pounds (not sure how much she weighed) I hated hearing her talk on 'The View'.

She couldn't even breath when she talked. It sounded like she was wore out just

from talking. I couldn't stand it hearing her gasp between sentences. I think

she deserves a lot of credit. Gastric bypass is not the whole answer. You

still have to work hard at it. I know someone who had this surgery over a year

ago and she may have lost 50 pounds by now but at her size you can't really

tell. What I'm saying is that just because you have this surgery does not mean

you will lose weight. You can stretch your stomach back out and eat just as

much w/ the surgery. It still takes discipline and a change in life style. No

matter what Star has done she is still having to change her life style and she

deserves to be built up just like the rest of us. What if she is reading these

posts? Not likely. But if she is we should be

positive. She is working hard and she looks great.

You are so right. I am living proof that you can get gastric bypass

and still gain back weight. I had the surgery in 2001 and lost 120

pounds. I thank God for this but, over the last year, I put back 40

pounds of it. So I am asking for God's help to eat sensibly and so

far WW Program is helping me.

I am restricted in my portions so I do six small meals rather than

three but I am doing flex points and it is working so far with God's

help. I am glad to be here.

One can tell that she's worked hard at the exercise portion. There's not a

lot of flab showing on her. Her arms looks way better than mine do! I

heard her talking on some news show the other day about her weight loss.

They asked her why she wouldn't divulge how she lost her weight. Her reply

was so sensible. She doesn't want to become the poster child for any

specific kind of weight loss method. She wants people to go to their doctor

and work with their doctor to find a solution that works for them. That's

what she did, and the decision she made was based on sound medical advice

from her doc. As I've said before, I don't think I could do gastric bypass.

It's too much of a sacrifice for me.
