Good show you for getting that oar in the water again. I'm a firm believer

in the " you got to go through whatever it is you go through " en route to

quitting - which includes smoking. It's kind of senseless to beat yourself

up over it.

I spent about 2-3 years chippying away and alternating between cigs and gum.

I'd do the gum thing for weeks - and then buy a pack because the 'scrip

needing refilling or some stupidity . I think that whole time tho, I was

learning other behaviours, so that when it came time to finally quit, the

addiction part was easy. When I quit for good, I was going through a

difficult patch, so I knew I was OVER it. I still really like to watch

folks smoke - and inhale deeply around them. Such are the vicarious thrills

of middle age...
