Guest guest
Hi, I have been a member since my TT, pappillary diagnosis, and 1st RAI 16 months ago, but am mostly a behind the scenes reader, and not a " poster " of messages here... but about 4 months ago I was faced with depression and other symptoms I thought might be associated with my thyroid meds. I approached my endo, got bloodwork done, and found out my levels were 'normal'. The endo, without giving me a chance to get a word in edgewise, promptly threatened to put me on antidepressants and changed me over to " thyroid extract " . I had some misgivings, but changed over. I haven't really felt any different, but experienced a lot of hair loss, and am still trying to find the right amount to take, etc... does anyone out there take thyroid extract? I've searched the postings, but can't seem to find anyone talking about it. Any thoughts? Are the precautions with eating, calcium, etc., still the same as with synthroid, etc.? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest looking for an endo who knows more about thyca. ellen -- mailto:ellen@...
