Guest guest
Greetings from Phx. where we have had record breaking heat of 107 the past 2 days! RE: Dr. Ain's article on tg levels, " in theory, patients with complete absence of thyroid cancer cells should have undetectable thyroglobulin levels (less than or equal to 1.0) both while hypothyroid and while on thyroid hormone. " I have had a total of 3 ablations and 2 clean scans. My tg has fallen from 20.1 to 13.4 to the current level (with thyrogen) of 3.4. The nurse told me that my endo believes a tg that is less than 5 is acceptable. This opinion contradicts Dr. Ain's statement. I have an appt. in 2 weeks to discuss the results with my endo. I really want to be assured that my tg level does not indicate that there are still some thyca cells lurking somewhere. I don't understand how a tg of less than 5 can be " acceptable " ? Any thoughts about this? Thanks, Ellen
