Guest guest
Jen~~~Thanks for sharing your story. Sounds a whole bunch like mine. It's amazing how so many of us were probably at deaths door and are still here today. I have to thank God everyday that he helped the doctor save me, even though the same idiot MD almost let me die. I am glad you are here, but sorry you lost your sweet angel. If you don't mind me asking. How did the hospital help you cope before they d/c'd you? Guest guest
oh jen m, I am sooooo sorry for your loss. You will find tremendous support and understanding here. First, i would go get a second opinion of what you went through. Also, if you stilll have your right ovary and tube, you can get pg naturally. They can do a test called an HSG where they can see the condition of your tube. I would have this done first before deciding to go to IVF. We went for a second opinion after my ep just for peace of mind and ended up finding the best dr ever... I hope you ddon't mind my suggestions. lisa r
Guest guest
thanks lisa, i love advise...well i have a few opinions going on right now..the doc. who did my reversal says to start trying again in three months naturally, of course, after my hsg, to make sure the right ones open, the other doc. says to go with the doc. who just did my surgery since he was in there and seen what was going on, he also says to wait the year for my hsg test because shooting the dye through might blow a hole in my uterus since its stitched up..my husband says if the test shows its open then just try naturally, but i'm so scared to have this happen again..i'm still going to get another opinion in another town where the doc's don't know eachother so they feel like they have to agree with eachother..obviously i'm fertile, which is great, but i'm so nervous for this to happen again..its devastating, let alone deadly.. jen m. --- tigger89@...> wrote: > oh jen m, > I am sooooo sorry for your loss. Guest guest
jen m, I think that's a good idea going to another town where the dr.s don't know each other... I am thinking about you, lisa r
Guest guest
Hi Jen, I am so sorry for your loss. I have to apologize too for not welcoming you sooner. I had an ep in July of 99 and lost my rt. tube. It was a year and half after my ep when I came upon this group and it was the best thing. Everyone here is so great and wonderful but I know you can already see that for yourself Well I look forward to talking to you. Please take care. Guest guest
Jen M, Welcome. I am very sorry for your loss and all you have went through. You have been tthrough more than you ever should of had to go through. I hope this group helps yoou as much as it has me. I read that you are going for another opinion, I am glad to hear that. Sounds like you need to find out what is really going on. I lost my baby and rt tube in Dec. 00 and had a hsg 3 months later. I decided to have one done bc I needed alittle piece of mind regarding the stat of my remaining tube. I know having the hsg and being told the tube is clear doesn't mean you will not have problems but I just needed to have it done, you know for myself. Please keep us posted and take care of yourself. Guest guest
Jen, the good thing is: You now know to react right away once you conceive. You know what to look for and how to take charge of the situation. If you remember my story from the TR list, I lost the r. tube immed after the reversal...and I've gone on to have 3 ectopics in my left tube. But I at least know that that tube is not useable. I can, in clear conscience, know that I haven't " wasted " money by doing IVF. I would only suggest trying naturally, tho, if you have an aggressive doctor that is willing to treat you with Methotrexate immediately! As soon as my doctor realised I got AF even tho pregnant, he was suspicious...then the low beta confirmed it was ectopic, even tho my numbers never went past 800 with any of them. But most of all, please be sure YOU feel comfortable with what you choose. (((HUGS))) BTW, if you can't already tell, this is a GREAT place under these circumstances. Since joining, and suffering the ectopics, this has been home to me whenever I do finally get around to my email! M thanks lisa, i love advise...well i have a few opinions going on right now..the doc. who did my reversal says to start trying again in three months naturally, of course, after my hsg, to make sure the right ones open, the other doc. says to go with the doc. who just did my surgery since he was in there and seen what was going on, he also says to wait the year for my hsg test because shooting the dye through might blow a hole in my uterus since its stitched up..my husband says if the test shows its open then just try naturally, but i'm so scared to have this happen again..i'm still going to get another opinion in another town where the doc's don't know eachother so they feel like they have to agree with eachother..obviously i'm fertile, which is great, but i'm so nervous for this to happen again..its devastating, let alone deadly.. jen m. --- tigger89@...> wrote: > oh jen m, > I am sooooo sorry for your loss. Guest guest
well, looks like were in the same boat..when my doc. did my tr, he told me he took out my left tube but left my ovary, it was all damaged from tl..i was upset when he told me but i figured i would be able to get pregnant on my right side..well the funny thing is, i got pregnant on my left side!!! i phoned the doc. who did this and he said that the tube couldn't be saved but he didn't remove it,,,i thought that strange,,if he would've taken it out it would've saved me all of this.. jen m. --- Marks marks2u@...> wrote: > Jen, the good thing is: You now know to react right > away once you conceive. > You know what to look for and how to take charge of > the situation. Guest guest
Hi Jen, Yes, we started ttc right after my hsg and I am blessed to say have become pg. I was so scared to start ttc because I didn't think I could go through another ep ever again but wanted to ttc so bad that it outweighed my fear you know? It is a personal decision to have the hsg but I just felt like, even though that wasn't 100% answer, I needed to have it for my own piece of mind. Please just know, that though living through a loss is a horrible nightmare that there can be light at the end of the tunnel. Just remember, drs don't know everything, I am glad you are going to talk to another one. I pray that you are able to ttc naturally. I know that ivf is expensive, I don't remember if you mentioned it, but does your ins pay for any of it, if you did need it. Good luck at the drs. Guest guest
Hi , Congratulations on your pregnancy. May I ask you a question since I am new to this? What does hsg stand for and what does it do? I have seen this abbreviation on several posts but have no clue what it means. I was told on Halloween of all days that I need to see a specialist. I am ovulating late. I don't understand what that means. I have my first appt. on November 20 and I don't know what to expect. I have been TTC for a year. I hope this works because I feel like such a failure. Please keep us informed of your progress and again Congratulations. -- In ectopicpregnancy@y..., Mei wrote: > > Hi Jen, > Yes, we started ttc right after my hsg and I am blessed to say have become pg. Please keep me posted and hopefully you will get a better idea of where you really stand and get some questions answered. Take care. Guest guest
JenM, At least with our history, drs do seem to really stay on top of things better. I know they usually get you right in when you think you are pg and do more b/w and u/s, which is good. I hope things work out for you. Sending lots of +++++thoughts your way. Keep me posted. Thanks. Guest guest
hi all, well i'm doing better everyday, except one thing, my husband,,,he was put on antidepressants after this happened, the day he returned to work last week is when he finished his pills, the doc. told him if he experiences any side effects to come back and he'll double dose it and wean him off of them..he has been soooo overly cranky and moody (side effect) almost down right mean, and he is never ever like that, he is the most soft hearted, sympathetic, loving man ever, last night was almost the last straw, when we figured its probably because of his meds. he got off work early and totally apoligized, he says he finds it really hard to see people pregnant, and babies...(it probably doesn't help because i babysit a 5month old) it hurts me too but i think i'm dealing with it better than him!! which is strange, but i'm gonna get him into the doc. again and straighten this out, maybe he went back to work too early..thanks for listening jen m. ect. preg. sept.28,2001 --- Keri Hejl octavious999@...> wrote: > Jen m, I am so sorry for your loss. Maybe it is good that he is acutually showing his emotions, I mean, usually men hide them, now he has to just learn how to deal with them better. He is very lucky to have you as his dw. Take care. Guest guest
JenM, Yeah, I wonder why the dr changed his meds. I know sometimes they can take awhile to get in your system. (hope he and you are ok until they start working) I know my dh and I handled the loss very differently. He seems to keep his feelings inside and had a much better outlook on the future than I did. I do think it is good that your dh is showing his feelings and trying to get a hold of them with your help. It really can be hard on a relationship but I am glad to here that maybe your relationship will even be stronger after this nightmare. You don't have to thank me for listening, I am glad I can. I know you are trying to help your dh cope and you need people to be there for you too.
