WORD XP question

I am using Word XP (or 2002, whatever) and recently am encountering a

problem. It's not a huge deal...just a pain in the rear. When I pull open a

template or any new file, it changes the view to 75% instead of 100%. Does

anyone know (PLEASE say yes) how to keep it at 100% so I don't have to fix it

every single time I use a new file or template? It just started doing this

yesterday. I have tried closing and reopening Word. I have tried shutting

the computer down completely and rebooting. Nothing seems to make a

difference. I can't see this 75% stuff, so I have to change it to 100% every

single time and as I am paid on production, you know how even that little bit

of time changing each file can add up in terms of loss of work time.

Anybody know how to fix this?

TIA

Dawn

I won't swear this will work, but I think it might. Open your normal template

(normal.dot). Set your view to 100% or whatever you want. Then type a

character, any character, anywhere on the document. Then delete the character.

Then save it. Make sure you are saving the template and NOT a file. It should

say " normal.dot. " You have to make a change in the document (other than just

the view) to make it understand that there is a change...that's why you type a

character and then delete it. ;)
