I'm celebrating a teeny anniversary today - one month and smoke-free! For

the most part it's been fairly easy. However, last week brought some

significant challenges with it. I've noticed that the cravings are strongest

during

stressful episodes. I've still managed to get through without not even ONE

cigarette. I don't think I'm " there " yet - my approach is still one day at a

time. I believe my lungs and kidneys are smiling and saying THANK YOU!

Hugs, Rita

That's not a teeny anniversary - that's the big hard one! This is a huge

lifestyle change - and my hat is off to you!

Rita:

I quit on Feb 25, 1998. I had tried many times to quit unsucesfully. The

final time was truly done one day at a time and with faith in God that he would

help me through each day. I am here to tell you that my faith brought me through

it just fine. The truth be known I loved to smoke so much it was winning out

and finally when I put it in the Lord's hands he won.

I am following you and pray for you from time to time. I hope you feel those

prayers and good thoughts.

I know you can do it!

Rita, Hang in there and keep on this path it does help. I quit smoking on Jan 8,

1978. I don't think I would have had my 70th birthday if I had keep on smoking.

CONGRADULATIONS RITA !!!!!!!!!! that is not a tiny anniversary, it's a huge

one. Keep it up, you've come this far and you can go lots longer, they say

everyday gets better. I'm jealous, I have many times tried to quit and will

try again, you give me encouragement that it can be done.

God Bless

Rita. Congratulations. I am so proud of you! Smoking and kidney disease just

do not go together so you have accomplished a great goal by quitting and are

protecting your kidneys in the process.

Way to go!
