Tubes can start out anywhere from 8cm - 12cm before your tubal ligation. Height

can also play a part in how long your tubes are. Your path report is simply

telling how much tube the doctor removed during your tubal ligation. 1.8cm and

1.3cm removed is great! I had 2cm removed from each side, a Pomeroy ligation,

and my lengths are 8cm on the right and 9cm on the left following my reversal.

Dr. Levin gave us 90% chances of conceiving, and it took us 4 months to conceive

our youngest daughter Bean, she is our first TR baby. I say first because

we are open to more, but we are not actively " trying " right now, just not

preventing.

Does your path report state what type of ligation you had? It should say

somewhere on there, whether it be cautery (burn), Pomeroy (common " cut and

tie " ), or bands/clips (Hulka clips or Falope rings).

I hope this helps!!

Question for anyone.....

I am a little confused about how tube lengths are measured. I hear

everyone talking in centimeters, like 5.5 and so on. That seems

awfully short to me. I thought from all of the anatomy pictures I

have seen that there are inches of tube, not centimeters. Maybe I am

just ignorant, but I really don't understand. My pathology report

says they removed 1.8 x 0.8 x 0.7 on the left and 1.3 x 1.0 x 0.8 on

the right. What does that mean? I scheduled my consult today for

Friday the 15th, so I guess the Dr. can tell me, but I would like to

know if anyone here (and I already know that you will tell me) :)

Are the tubes really that short?

Thanks so much for your help.

I guess that was more than one question......
