Same here, although I was on Valcyte instead of IV Gancyclovir right

after tx. I got CMV about a month after I went off the Valcyte. Went

back on at double the dose (900 mg twice a day). The 900 mg dose was

around $4800 for a months supply (luckily I only had to take it for a

couple weeks), so Gene's cost sounds about right. Luckily my insurance

covered all but $80 of it, but they made the doctor verify it before

they would pay.

As with athan, I took Valcyte post transplant. I took it for 90

days (until 10/2/07), so haven't been off it for long. It was part of

the post tx drug protocol because I was CMV negative and the liver I

received was CMV positive.
