Guest guest
<< In no way should someone have to pull their pants down to their ankles to have their upper left quadrant examined. >> In no way should anyone have to pull their pants down PERIOD. How vulgar. Either I can take my clothes off and put on the gown, or I can leave my clothes on... " Peeling down one's pants and underwear around one's ankles " is reserved for shamed adolescent ogling, and pissing while leaning on the car bumper on the side of the road after a keg-party. Certainly not an adult in pain in an ER for God's sake. Sue the bastard. Okay, maybe I'm just reacting... but that really pisses me off. I'm so sorry, Angel, that you had to undergo such mistreatment. What a creepy bastard. At the very least he needs to be reported so that he can be advised that his attitude and approach need a significant amount of polishing. Good luck. Guest guest
Angel: Hang in there. I've gone through what you have gone through at the ER. Many people on this website have gone through what you have gone through at the ER. It's really sad that we have to deal with this type of behavior from doctors at the ER. It's bad enough that we live with the symptoms of this terrible disease. I have a GI specialist now whom understands that I have chronic pancreatitis and that enzymes sometimes do not elevate substantially during an attack. When I get sick now, I call my GI specialist and let him or another staff member know that I'm having the pancreatitis symptoms again. They then tell me to go to the ER. After I arrive at the ER my GI specialist calls the ER and tells them what he wants ordered and he usually has the ER doctor call him with the results of the tests. If I'm having a hard time dealing with the pancreatitis attack at home, my GI specialist now admits me to rest the pancreas and provide pain and nausea relief. It's so much better having a doctor whom understands your condition. You are in my prayers. mynameis_Angel campcanoe98@...> wrote: I went to the ER last night. He talked so fast and wouldnt let me get a word in edgewise. He contested every thing I said. Then he examined me. He immediately untied my gown in the back and listened to my lungs. I have never had a Dr. untie my gown before, but I thought nothing of it until he told me to lie down and he totally ripped my gown off without asking. He listened to my heart. The he told me to " peel my pants and underwear down to my ankles. " Fuck no. I told him no way. He protested, but gave in and told me just to pull them down around my hips. I'm so embarassed and mad. This was totally inappropriate. In no way should someone have to pull thier pants down to their ankles to have their upper left quadrant examined. I want to do something about it but I don't know what I should do. Im going to call administration on Monday to find out what they will do. I have had another friend inappropriately examined by him so Im going to talk to her tonight to see what she thinks. All I have to say is GRRRRRRR! Angel PANCREATITIS Association, Intl. Guest guest
Sounds like a good case of sexual harrassment to me. I have NEVER been asked by an ER physician or a GI doctor to remove my underwear when I go in with abdominal pain. I have been asked to pull them below my belly if they cover it, but not to the ankles. One reason I switched to bikini underwear was it didn't cover the belly.Go get him girl. This cannot be the first time he has done this. In addition,a female staff member should have been in the room with him. Please, please report him. I am so sorry you were violated in such an awful way, he needs to be stopped!! Good Luck, Debbie in CA.
