Guest guest
For all of you praying MTs out there: There were 8 confirmed tornadoes in my area (southwestern Missouri Ozarks) last night; up to 28 unconfirmed. A dozen people were killed, one a former schoolmate in a neighboring town. We only got debris in our yard, but a couple of -miles down the road, some houses were demolished. The winds were so strong that our grill flew off our deck and landed in the bushes. But...we were lucky. My husband went fishing yesterday at a lake a few miles from here and came tearing home just miles ahead of an F3 twister, visible in his rearview mirror. Please pray for those families who are now homeless or have lost loved ones. Thanks. Regards, Pax Christi, Gail " Catholicbabe "
Guest guest
We'll be praying here too -- I live in Tennessee, and we had a rough night last night too -- and it's continuing today and supposed to start up again tonight. The air outside feels just awful -- it's like walking into a warm wet towel <shudder> We had some tornados come thru here back in the fall, and they had a lot of damage and death west of us (our weather alert radio went off constantly last night, and we spent quite a lot of time huddled in the shower with the dog, who is terrified of storms). The lightning was almost continuous and looked like a strobe light. We only had some damaged trees here, thank goodness. Hope that is as bad as it gets here -- and for you too! Leesa (in Portland, TN, apparently the " new " tornado alley!)

My dog is terrified of storms, as well. I have a walk-in closet in the master bath that she hides in, getting her hair all over my skirts on the bottom bar. Her poor tail is plastered to her behind and her ears to her head. Nothing more pathetic than a trembling dog. I have actually slept in the closet with her before when it has gotten really bad because she will sit and whine in the dark otherwise. Our other dog just sleeps through it. The tornado chasing my husband hopped over our road and touched down again about 2 miles from here. It leveled the center of the town that borders the lake on which he was fishing, Stockton, Missouri. I hear they got smacked in KC, as well; that's a few hours north of here, so it was pretty widespread. My prayers to those in your neck of the woods, as well. This is the time of the year (April, May, June) that we have tornado watches and warnings several times a week, and this year is no exception. Take care. Guest guest
You bet. Sounds like we were both agonizing over our fishin' fool hubbies yesterday. Thank God both got home safely. I am going to pray a rosary today for the victims of yesterday's storms, and will remember you along with them. Take care of yourself. Guest guest
Prayers going up. That is scary. I saw some of the damage on the news. We live in an area in PA that doesn't really get tornadoes, except on May 31 and June 2, 1998, we had several that devastated the lower part of our county. I was covering it for the newspaper, and it was just amazing to see what tornadoes could do. Makes me even more nervous during bad storms. Scary, scary night For all of you praying MTs out there: There were 8 confirmed tornadoes in my area (southwestern Missouri Ozarks) last night; up to 28 unconfirmed. Guest guest
Gail, You have my prayers and my thoughts. I live in Southern Middle Tennessee, right where all those storms went next. We had a very long and scary night also. Not mention that my husband is on a yearly fishing trip with some buddies at Reelfoot Lake(hard hit also). We didn't hear from him until about 10a.m.(our time) this morning and now I can breath a sigh of relief, for now. It looks like it's starting here again. So along with prayers & thoughts to Gail and her family, send some this way for tonight, as it is suppose to get bad again here. Thanks for being here, Kathy > > > For all of you praying MTs out there: > > There were 8 confirmed tornadoes in my area (southwestern Missouri Ozarks) > last night; up to 28 unconfirmed.
