Guest guest
Hi, I've just gotten a new PC. Sounds great, right? Well, it is (more on that later once everything is working!!). Everything is working great except for one small problem: I cannot open Outlook Express. It says: Outlook Express could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be loaded. (This email is coming from my old PC!) Any ideas on why it couldn't load that one DLL? Second, I was going to just reinstall OE from my CD, but when I put the CD in the new CD player, it doesn't automatically bring up the tutorial to walk me through installation. The CD player does read data and music, it just isn t set to automatically start the CD. Any idea how I can turn this on so I can reinstall (if necessary) OE? TIA!!! S. Guest guest
I did a Google search on MSOE.DLL and found several places where you can download it. However, I don't know what it does and why you need it. :-/ Rennie computer software problem Hi, I've just gotten a new PC. Sounds great, right? Guest guest
Thanks :-). I got a custom PC. FAST :-). Details to follow as soon as I have this problem fixed :-) I'm rushing for time. I didn't know OE came with IE. That explains lots! Thanks! S. > > > Congrats on the new PC! Guest guest
Before you do anything else go to http://windowsupdate.com and download/install all the critical updates. This may resolve the problem. If it doesn't, you can search on " OE error MSOE.DLL " I got lots of hits on google one being: http://www.all-windows.com/oe_kb_trouble.html aloha, Pam
Guest guest
, go to http://www.webattack.com and look for the section that has missing files. That dll should be there. Good luck. Guest guest
Congrats on the new PC! What kind did you get? It sounds like that dll file got corrupted or didn't install correctly. You can probably fix it by reinstalling Outlook Express which probably means reinstalling Internet Explorer. Be sure to reboot before running anything. HTH! Guest guest
, Keep up posted on what's happening and especially if something didn't work. Might be able to come up with other ideas. Guest guest
Sorry it took me so long to respond :-). I tried everyone's suggestions all to no avail! Nothing would work, so I finally brought it back to my computer guy. He fixed OE (had to edit the registry,so I'm glad I didn't try that!!--LOL!) I have not networked the 2 PCs....that's set up for next weekend! I'm running out the door now to pick up my pc. (Get this: the guy that custom built my pc offers a 5 year warranty on hardware AND for the first year will help with any and all SOFTWARE problems--FREE!) Plus, he's about a mile down the road! Can't be beat :-) Thanks, S. -- Re: computer software problem Did you network the 2 PCs? At 03:13 PM 5/2/03 -0400, wrote: >Hi, > >I've just gotten a new PC. Sounds great, right? Guest guest
That was the other thing the computer guy did: He turned on autorun on my new PC so I don't have to mess with this!
