Guest guest
How has Kennedy reacted to getting so much mail?? I know your card was the 1st one we got and Kennedy looks so cute!! I showed her picture (and everyone elses) to (he is 10 almost 11) and he is so surprised to see how many other kids are out there like his little sister. I think its great for our CHARGE kids to get these cards but also for thier siblings to learn from too. Guest guest
Chrystal- Good point about the value of the cards for sibs. If you are able to go to the conference, will appreciate seeing all of the other families and being in a place where his sister is " normal " . I'm sure it's been beneficial to . He's been going to every one since Aubrie was born (he was 6) and has sort of grown up with a full view of CHARGE. I think it's helped with his understanding of what it means, what the possibilities are, and that we're not alone. Guest guest
Crystal, Usually she says " who's that? " , then I tell her the names and I tell her so-and-so has CHARGE, just like you! and she usually says " cool! " or " wow! " ...it's been really cute and fun. > > How has Kennedy reacted to getting so much mail?? I know your card > was the 1st one we got and Kennedy looks so cute!! Guest guest
Ellen- It's not like lives for CHARGE. He ignores that Aubrie has anything. He treats her like a " regular ol' sister " with all the good and bad that goes with it. Truly - he's kinder than most big brothers. I don't think he understands how huge CHARGE is. She's just Aubrie to him and he doesn't see that anything is unusual. He is 6 years older than her so he isn't real involved in her life. So he doesn't " care " about CHARGE on a daily basis. But I know he understands it in many ways because of his exposure at the conferences. I think that exposure every 2 years continues to build his understanding as he matures and is capable of understanding more.
