Dear Rita,

I'm thinking that interaction with one child, perhaps a little older, might be

the way to start. If she is somehow upset at the commotion, or fast activity of

other kids, just take it back a notch and find a really sweet relative or

neighbor who wants to take the time to interact with your cute little

granddaughter. :-) Don't worry about groups of kids at the moment. The best

thing may be just to keep Caitlyn interested and curious about other kids.

The screaming could be due to a lot of issues, so maybe try to isolate if the

noise is too loud or the activity too frenetic for her pleasure, or is somehow

disquieting to her because she may not fully comprehend the language yet. And

it could be unrelated to the other children is any way. It could be that her

tolerance level is low due to some other physical sensation or condition at the

time. I'm thinking perhaps reflux or some other circumstance.

When it is possible to return to the " Mother and Toddlers " groups, perhaps ease

into it gently.

Best luck. You are a wonderful gramma to take such interest in Caitlyn. I'm

impressed. :-) Totally.

Mom to Kendra, and Camille
