Guest guest
hi all, I am Missy, yes Georga sent me here and I finally listened(happy now GA, hehe) anyway...I live in rural NE Alabama on 6 acres that I am, insanely enough, trying to turn into a small farm. I am married to typical big ole redneck whom I love alot, even if he is as stubborn as the proverbial mule. I am mom to 5 kids who are routinely driving me insane. They are , who is 13, with ADD, lived with his father now up in OR and we get visits..Next in line is Robby, who is 11. Very bright(too darn bright at times), but is very emotional and hold stuff in which worries me(will tell why in a min) next come , aka J.B. my 9 year old baseball player who we think might be ADHD also suffers from eczema since birth... is next at 7. She has an undetermined, as yet, learning disorder. She is in second grade for the 2nd year and looks like she may be there yet again(she was homeschool last year with the others and put back in first when we put them back in public this year) and last is Ashlyn the two and a half year old monster, who you will probably hear the most about..she is the main reason Georga kept telling me to come here...unknown for certain yet what she has, but working on it. About me, I have a panic/anxiety disorder that I take meds for and since hubby works 3rd shift I also have chronic insomnia so you will see me on here at all odd hours of the night..well, Ash keeps me up pretty late too..Any hoo, now that I have run on much long than I intended I look forward to meting everyone and asking tons of questions Missy in Alabama -wife, mother, organic gardener, writer, homesteader and dreamer

Guest guest
Very funny, Missy. Guest guest
--- In parenting_autism , " Idlewild Farm " > Thank you..I am technically an aspiring writer, but my mentor informed me to change my sig line from aspiring to just writer cause the sooner you THINK yourself a writer the sooner you will be.. > I look at it this way, in sports you're called an amateur if you're not getting paid for what you do but you're still an athlete. ;o) That would make me an amateur writer too. I sold a short story once...but the ezine went under before it could be printed. I write non-fiction for a writers' website. I write sf/fantasy for the fun of it because I'm certainly not getting paid for my time yet. >we are getting my chickens and goats soon, yeah... I'll leave the chickens and goats to you. ) I lived on a farm as a kid so I've already taken care of my share of chickens, sheep, pigs, cattle, ducks, geese and chinchillas...(don't ask, it was one of my dad's get rich quick schemes.) However, :D We recently had a stray cat wander onto the property and decide he liked . This was great since I'd had to put our old labrador to sleep a few months ago. was very upset about the dog. (months of obsessing about death and dying after that.) Our new adoptee, wouldn't stop fighting with our outside cat. Against my better judgement I finally broke down and bought a litter box. is doing FANTASTIC!! He's a wonderful house cat. Very well behaved, never goes anywhere but his litter box and is currently playing with . Tina
