Guest guest
You are correct the magnesium used in pre term labor (ex labor.delivery nurse) is sulfate form, and actually magnessium sulfate prevents seizure in eclampsia/that is one of the reasons it is given. http://www.mgwater.com/ a pretty comprehensive site on overall mag benefits. Magnesium is calming, does not induce excitation as opposed to calcium, calcium can be excitatory to brain. why calcium channel blocker meds are used as anti seizure. > > My 7 yr old had 4 days of vit E but also had mag citrate > 2 of those days to help w/constipation. Guest guest
Actually, the mag used for preterm labor is magnesium sulfate, not magnesium citrate. (believe me, I know......3 course of it. Yech!). So I'm not sure she's talking about the same thing. > My 7 yr old had 4 days of vit E but also had mag citrate 2 of those days to help w/constipation. Guest guest
Calcium channel blockers have a long list interactions -- magnesium is one of them. http://www.umm.edu/altmed/ConsSupplements/Interactions/Magnesiumcs.ht ml > > > > > > You want to start out with at least 400 IU.
