Guest guest
I have a few of them, and both of my kids like them, they are pretty good for some speech and learning aspects, but for some reason the tapes that I have a pretty poorly recorded, if you can get them in DVD. Guest guest
My dd who is now three prefers the Baby Babble over the Bumblebee videos. We had borrowed one of the Bumblebees from a friend but purchased the Baby Babble ourselves. Another big hit is Signing Times! Guest guest
I ordered the Baby Bumblebee videos and my son loved them. I ordered I think around three and they repeated the words over and over with pictures. I also used the Talking letter factory from LeapFrog videos with my son. This really helped him a lot. Both were very good for my son. He started talking at 4 and was dx w/PDD. Take care, Phyllis
Guest guest
If your child has trouble saying single words in isolation, the videos are excellent. My daughter enjoyed watching them, and they encouraged her to try to say different words. These videos helped increase my daughter's vocabulary and improved her artic. Thumbs up for baby bumblebee from me! > > Has anyone tried the Baby Bumblebee videos? According to their website their > videos are good for speech and developmental delays, and autism. Guest guest
Yes, we tried many of them. Unfortunately they did not seem to interest my son. or get his attention. But that's just him. He didn't like Baby Einstein either. Was never curious about the busy, little imagery or bright colors. maryebe wrote: > If your child has trouble saying single words in isolation, the videos > are excellent. Guest guest
Although we have 7 of these and my son loved them, I wish I spent some of the money on the " Signing Time " videos. They are wonderful! My son had about 50 signs and then stopped signing when he perfected initial sounds and pointing. We recently reintroduced signing through these videos and so much is clicking! It's a multi-sensory approach because he is actually trying to make the signs, which helps his motor-planning too. I have also been using signs with him, even though I know he understands what I am saying. They help him pay attention to what is being said because he has a visual to concentrate on. Conversely, if I can't understand what he is saying, he will attempt to make the sign and it clears things up for both of us. The videos come with a CD and we listen to them in the kitchen and the car. I love them! , 4 years old, PDD-NOS > > > > > > Has anyone tried the Baby Bumblebee videos? Guest guest
Hi -I have the baby signing video/cd's volume 1 & 2 too for my son dx W/serve apraxia they too have helped him and I had them before he was dx w/apraxia and he really enjoys them too and it is nice to have the cd's for the car they helps to for him to remember the signing plus my six year really enjoyed them to and has picked up the signing also and that helps for him too to understand his brother when trying to communicate. The video's and cd's are so upbeat I even enjoy watching and singing along to them myself . Just thought I'd pass along how good they are too !!! Last night too we brought him a V-tech toy that lights up and has the alphabet and 7 diff rent other educational things to do and he has already trying to repeat the letters/sounds( I'm guessing the toys alot better than me repeating it to him .)The lady at walmart had just started putting them out yesterday so I'm guessing they are new it was only 19.95 just thought I pass it along . Guest guest
We have tried these with our daughter, but she refuses to talk and will only sign back at the video. Does anyone else have a child with apraxia that learned sign language but doesn't try talking? She was 2 last May and she does say 10 words but she has a sign vocabulary of over 200 words. Also about Signing Time, our speech therapist said the videos sometimes help kids talk, because of the repition (sp) of the kids saying the words and sometimes they will repeat what they see the kids saying. > Although we have 7 of these and my son loved them, I wish I spent > some of the money on the " Signing Time " videos. Guest guest
" Does anyone else have a child with apraxia that learned sign language but doesn't try talking? " My daughter did that. She was not able to talk at that time, I believe, so she did not bother to try. However, when she did begin talking, the words that she could sign were the first words that she could say reliably. For a short time, she would say the word and sign it simultaneously. Gradually, she began to drop the sign. She now only occasionally signs a word and it mostly happens when she is tired or frustrated.
