Sandy - thanks for this info. Just curious about the doctors who do

recommend ProEFA and EPA, does yours recommend a dosage? What does

she think about the high doses many of us are using? Did she have

any thoughts about the extra vit E? So many of us talk to doctors

who think we are nuts for using these supplements, it helps to hear

some details about the doctors who support it. Thanks!

Hi Kristi,

Our developmental ped actually is the first one to mention giving my

son omegas. I didn't know about it prior to her telling us. Then I

came on this site and was floored by all the info I was learning!

We live in the Washington DC area, and our dev ped is well respected

and quite popular. She is brilliant in my book. She suspected

apraxia when my son was 15-18 months, but just recently got the

diagnosis at 2yrs 5months from our speech therapist. OUr dev ped

has been seeing my son since birth. He was a 26 weeker preemie, so

she knows him pretty well.

As far as dosage.....she is starting him on 2 ProEFA Jr (equal to

one ProEFA)2 times a day and 200 iu of d-alpha and 200iu of d-gamma

once a day along with our multi. It doesn't seem like a lot based

on what I have been reading, but I guess it is a start. We see her

in October and she said that she will re-evaluate him to see if we

need to up the dosage based on the progress or lack there of. We

are also geting blood work done this upcoming week.

Thanks! It sounds as if we have a good doc, so that is good to

hear!!!
