Vitamin E

I have had Gavin (my 3yo apraxic son) on 2 Omega 3-6-9 and 1 EPA per day for

about a month. I have noticed improvements in his vocalizations. He still has

very few words, but is making sounds and actually trying to communicate with me

by showing me what he wants to get his point across. I was going to increase the

fish oil starting on Friday, but then decided to give Vitamin E a try. I was at

the grocery store, of all places, and just happened to go through the pharmacy

when I thought I would look for natural vitamin E. I found one that was natural,

checked the label, and it was d-alpha and not dl-alpha so I got it. It also

happened to be 50% off! WOO HOO!

Now I am pretty sure this isn't wishful thinking. I just started him on it

yesterday evening. Today, he showed me that he needed to use the toilet (a

first). He put his finger over his lips to tell me to " shh " because his toy

kitty was sleeping. He asked me for more " yum yums " (children's dha...he loves

them, so why stop when they don't seem to be hurting anything). He asked to go

" ou " which I'm guessing means out since he's never tried to express outside. He

came up to me and very clearly said, " HI! " and then held up three fingers and

said " me " . He said " ba " for bath as I am typing this message! Is it a

coincidence? Is it the fish oils just now kicking in? I have decreased the trans

fats in all of our diets recently. Is that the key? I don't know, but whatever

it is, it's working! I'm hoping to have more to report in the next few days.
