Guest guest
Well, my first beta is in. I'm ecstatic! With my ep, the beta was only at 45 on 15dpIUI. Today is 15dpIUI, and my beta is at 392!!! I am definitely relieved, and hopeful for this little baby! Amber

Guest guest
Amber, Congrats! Those numbers sound just perfect. One little question - 15dpoIUI - what is the IUI again? Guest guest
IUI is intra-uterine insemination, where the sperm is washed and placed directly into the uterus through a catheter. My dh doesn't produce sperm, so we do IUI's with donor sperm. Amber > Amber, > > Congrats! Guest guest
Hi Amber. Why do they wash it? Is it so they are only inserting sperm and not the rest of it? Guest guest
They wash it because the semen has to be separated from the sperm. The uterus will cramp if they insert semen into it. Plus, it gives them the option of " culling " the sperm. For those with poor motility or morphology, they can remove the sperm that are not formed correctly, or moving in the wrong direction, and insert more healthy sperm into the uterus. Guest guest
Thanks, Crystal... I go in for my u/s on the 15th, and am hoping to see a baby developing in the uterus.
