Guest guest
I'm sorry that you are having so much pain... I can empathize with you though... I have sciatica also. Mine has gotten MUCH better even with the little bit of weight loss I am having... it also helps that I am exercising my abs. For me, when I am in pain & want to just give up because it would be easier, I remember that the only way to have the doctors quit blaming all of my problems on my weight is to get rid of the weight! Hope things get better soon! near Houston 349.2/313/158 started WW 01/17/05 First 10% 03/22/05 ..

Guest guest
I am doing WATP now... It is amazing how much you engage your abs when you are doing those DVDs! I hope to move up to a stability ball soon. But, this may sound weird now, what got me on my way to being able to DO the WATP 1 mile & now the 2 mile with NO PAIN in my back & my right leg not feeling as if it is on fire!, was singing. I joined my church choir & standing for 30-60 minutes 3 times a week singing from my diaphragm strengthened my abs just enough to make other things bearable. It wasn't easy at first, but most things that are worthwhile aren't! I also bought a beginning belly dance workout routine... the stretches & rotations helped massage my back & get my abs working. Before, I couldn't even cook dinner without crying from back & leg pain. I even bought a stool to try & sit on to cook... that didn't work, but it makes a great place to keep my food scale stable now! I have come a VERY long way in a fairly short amount of time. Don't get me wrong... it hasn't been easy, but it is defiantly worth it. Right now, as I sit here typing this I am in pain, but not enough to take a pill... not even Tylenol. I can park at the back of the parking lot now & walk through the store without having to clutch the buggy to help me walk... my younger daughter is THRILLED that she gets to push it now. I have WAY too much of a belly, but I have a friend who did Pilates to get rid of her sciatica... maybe you could try that. Most libraries have dvds or tapes that you can check out so you can try before you buy... that is what I do, saves me from buying things that I can't do. I hope you find something to help with your pain. near Houston 349.2/313/158 started WW 01/17/05 First 10% 03/22/05 ..
