Guest guest
Jeff, My son is 4 1/2 yrs old and has had a trach since he was 6 months old. There is a lot to carry, but over the years and now that my son is in school, we have gotten everything in one bag. We use an Eddie Bauer rolling suitcase which I found at Target and it seems to have alot of little pockets to hold all of the stuff you wouldn't need on a daily basis. We also carry his suction and put an extra trach in the side pocket with extra humidvents. Now that he is older and more stable medically, we carry the suction a lot only and keep the suitcase in the car if we are going on a short trips which we wouldn't need feeding stuff, diapers, etc. But it did take us a long time to get to that point where I felt comfortable keeping some of the supplies in the car. We hang the suction over the side of his wheelchair and then just wheel the rolling suitcase. We look like we are going on a trip, but it works for us! Good luck Jody Jody - mom to Ethan (ChARGE) and --------------------------------- Check out the all-new Yahoo! Mail beta - Fire up a more powerful email and get things done faster. Guest guest
Hi Can you talk a little more about your son, and why he needed the trach. Is this permanent? what are the risks? Thank you, Liz -- Re:Trach Suction/Go Bags Jeff, My son is 4 1/2 yrs old and has had a trach since he was 6 months old.
