Subject: Re: IAQ Problem Unresolved

Bill's attitude is very typical & shows a lack of knowledge of IAQ.

Most think of chemical spills & other major events as IAQ. Unfortunately,

this is not the case. By sealing our buildings we have created an IAQ

problem with ALL facilities: both commercial; & residential. One of the

main sources of contamination is us (Humans), then everything else that is

in the building is outgassing, including all the " industrial strength "

cleaning materials. Then we can add mold & all of the bacteria & viruses

that remain suspended until you breathe it. I have not seen much evidence

that indicates that the main stream of the IAQ industry has not come to

grips with low-level exposures of toxins, allergens etc over sustain periods

of time. I recommend reading a book by Doris Rapp,

" Is this your Child " which goes into depth about becoming sensitized over

time due to the low-level (most of the time undetectable & below EPA & OSHA

standards) exposure. Some people are more sensitive than others and in

others the symptoms are disregarded or blamed on other reasons.
