Guest guest
Hi, I am a new(ish) member of the group. I have read many of the previous post and have found this group to be very helpful already. I have a son, who is going to turn 2 next week, and was adopted from Russia. Since he has been home (at 7 months) we have done lots of interventions to help him overcome his rough(er) start in life. Currently, he is receiving OT for SID twice a week and ST one a week. He has low facial tone (lots of drooling) and his ST believes he is apraxic. Since I have found this site I began him on Flax seed oil (because I was familiar and comfortable with it!). We had an appointment with our Chiropracter who does nutritional muscle testing and he agreed flax seed would benifit my son. Last week, after good results for two weeks on the flax, I brought my DC the information regarding the fish oils from this site. He muscle tested my son with a DHA & EPA mix that he had and said that it " locked in " - which means the body really likes/needs this suppliment. So he now has us finishing the flax in the AM and using the fish oils in the PM until we have finished what I previously purchased and then just using the fish oils. My son is now babbling like crazy, this week he said phrases like I won't & I will (once each). We are so happy to see this progress. His ST was on vacation this week, I think she is going be suprised when she sees him this week. So besides telling our story, I have two questions: 1. Would anyone be willing to send me 1-2 capsules of the Nordic Naturals for me to have my Chiropracter muscle test my son. I do not want to begin using a product that I have to order if it does not work any better than one that I can get at his office (and I know he really researches what he sells/recommends.) If you are willing, my e-mail address is montaglione@... and I would be willing to compensate you for mailing and the cost of the capsules. 2. I have read some folks posts about how they give their child the oils early in the day because it was interferring with sleep. Is this common? I did find last night, my son unexpectedly had some trouble falling asleep. He is normally a good sleeper and I do not want to mess with this! Thanks again to everyone in this group.
