Guest guest
I hope estrace will help me and if I have to take Diflucan once per week for awhile (to prevent the estrace from causing yest infection) it might be worth it. I'm so glad you're much better. I have the same thing- yeast and BV. I've had a vaginal infection every day since September, it never goes away (caused by the overuse of antibiotics last summer when I had a kidney infection). I got vestibulitis from trying to treat the vaginal infections, all the trauma of allergic reactions to every medication. Diflucan would stop recurrent yeast, but what did you do to make the BV go away? Probiotics aren't recolonizing my good bacteria, so it never goes away. > > I had pain on entry and constant pain, plus pain with contact. I was given all sorts of diagnosis but I really think finding the right diagnosis with this stuff isn't the most important thing-getting adequate pain relief is. I had recurrent infections (yeast and bv). I used long-term diflucan, estrace, and pt. I also did acupuncture and yoga. I tried neurontin, elavil, and it was not helpful at all. i also tested positive for Lyme and was treated for that. My husband did pt on me every day for months and now we're down to 2-3x per week. I have painfree sex with pain afterwords only 50% or less of the time. I can wear pants sometimes, working into jeans. I am SO MUCH BETTER. > Lindsey >
Guest guest
I did 5 days of metrogel and then 300 mg of clindamycin a day (on it for about a year now) and my BV is gone. My dr. tried to pull me off the clindamycin but it came back. The Metrogel didn't cause me any pain at all, but monistat or nystatin or steroids caused immediate severe pain. So, if you haven't been on Metrogel before, my advice would be to not avoid it because the other stuff is painful. Metrogel is clear gel, unlike the other stuff that are greasy creams. My reaction to Metrogel compared to everything else was a night and day difference. The clindamycin was tough on my stomach for about 2 weeks, but since then has been perfectly fine.
