I can't wait to come home after work today and have it again. Now that I have broken the WW product barrier, and purchased the smoothie mix, I am curious about the points on Carnation instant breakfast and Sliimfast, which people have talked about using instead. Are they similar in points, as in just one for the packet? Do they even come as a powdered packet? I have often made smoothies before, but I must say this recipe beats what I have come up with before! It's either 2 or 2-1/2 points for the whole GIGANTIC thing. There's enough to share (but who WOULD? LOL!). I love how filling it is, because it lasts for HOURS. Anyway, here you go: 1 packet smoothie mix (choc) (1 point) 4 oz 1% milk (1 point) frozen strawberries--up to 4 1/2 ounces (0 points) (I defrost these slightly) about 6 ounces of coffee (0 pts) 1/4 cup of CoolWhip Free ( .5 pt) 16 ounces crushed ice In blender, blend the (defrosted) strawberries with the milk and coffee. Add in the choc. smoothie mix and blend well. Add in the Cool Whip Free and the crushed ice. Add a little more water until you reach desired thickness. Blend until VERY smooth and ENJOY for 2.5 points! Note 1: this yields about 32-34 ounces of " chocolate milk shake " !! Note 2: If you omit the Cool Whip Free, it's 2 points. But the CW makes it VERY creamy and good! Hugs, Bette
Guest guest
WW Smoothie is 1 point if you use water (which is 1 dairy), and 2 if you use milk (which is 2 dairy). I've used both, and I like the WW version better. I buy them on EBay for less than buying in the WW store. wSmoothies Costello maryshann@...> wrote:Bette, I made this yesterday and it is WONDERFUL! Guest guest
Do the WW smoothies have any artificial sweeteners or chemicals in them? If they do..I suggest anyone working at weight loss as a part of a good health journey to pass on them. It is best to eat what is nutritious, foods that feed our bodies. Guest guest
, If you add only 4 ounces of 1% milk to the smoothies, as I do, it only adds 1 point. Sharon, I think it's fine to eliminate all foods that contain artificial sweeteners and/or chemicals, IF a person chooses to do so. For me, the WW smoothies and also pure-fruit smoothies were an extremely important part of my 112-pound weight loss and I highly recommend them to anyone who chooses to allow themselves this treat. It's a very personal, individual choice. Bette in CA
