Guest guest
Hi Michele, You stated you were a " brand spanking new Scribes IC " . Which Scribes is that? The Scribes that merged with Healthscribe or Scribes Voice and Data services. I too am a recent grad (not of s) and have been searching for a job. At this point I do not care if it is on site some where or at home. I know someone else posted last week asking about Scribes because they charge a maintenance fee. Is this the same Scribes you work for? If so, how do you like them so far. I was going to take their online screening test. I am trying to find a company that will work with a recent grad. I have already received a few names from the great people in this group. Guest guest
I was the one who posted last week! Yes, this is Scribes Voice and Data services (confusing, huh?). I had feedback that convinced me the fees are totally legitimate. Everything about the company seems very clear and very organized. I also know that they are looking for new people. Something I don't know, however, is whether there is any difference between their Canadian office and their American offices. All my communication has been through the Canadian office. I haven't actually done any work yet. Still waiting for my foot pedal to arrive. I've spent the last few days trying to familiarize myself with the MedTran program and all the guidelines... Guest guest
I hear ya! I sub from two companies right now. One wants 2 spaces between sentences, and the other ones 1. I have Instant Text do my spacing for me, but I have to remember to change my options in IT before I switch work to a different company. Sometimes I do forget, and then I have to do a Find/Replace deal on the document. Ugh, LOL! Rennie www.renesue.com Re: Re: New Scribes IC p.s. Guest guest
Thanks for the information. I will go to the website and complete their online testing to see how I do. Good luck to you. Guest guest
, When I first started at Total eMed, my primary account wanted 2 spaces after periods, and my second wanted 1. I had to switch back and forth on a fairly regular basis but was really surprised at how little time it to adjust each time. Good luck! --------------------------------- a in Maine BA English Career Step Grad Total eMed - 8/19/02 Multispecialty > p.s. Guest guest
, Although you are in Canada and I am in the U.S., how long did it take you to hear back from Scribes after you tested with them? I tested with them and was just wondering how long it takes to get feedback. Thanks. > > > Actually, if you click on " letter verify " after you have entered > > any letter, > > > you will know it's correct if the computer doesn't do anything. > > > > > > Thanks, Rennie. Guest guest
Hi , It's a funny/sad story. I tested at the beginning of June. During my testing process, I encountered several messages saying directly or indirectly not to call them. There was a message on the web site that tests would be marked after July 1, and that everybody would be contacted. I waited... er... patiently. I didn't hear. I am not good with follow-ups. Finally, I called mid-July and left a message. The HR person got back to me the next day. She didn't see my name on her computer. (Uh, oh... was I going to have to do the test again?) She asked me for the spelling of my name. It turned out somebody had spelled it wrong when giving her the message. (Phew!) ... There I was... I had been emailed a contract on June 24, but I never got the contract!!! She emailed me a new one immediately, and things got rolling. I suspect that what happened was that during a purge of spam in my In box, I may have accidentally deleted the message from Scribes. The contract came from " Web User. " (Strange, huh?) Normally, I carefully consider both the sender and the subject heading before deleting, but I guess I was just too quick that day. Or maybe I really didn't get the contract at all. Who knows? The moral of the story? FOLLOW UP! (Do it by phone... I could tell you a MedQuist story, too) And be careful what you delete from your In box... Guest guest
Thanks . I received the same message saying not to call them, they will contact me. So I guess I will give it 2 or 3 weeks and then contact them. As for Medquist, I am done with them for now. Hopefully if I retest with them they will be online. Hopefully, I will have a job before that time comes.
