Guest guest
I recently added a medical crossword puzzle to my website. If you get a chance, check it out and let me know what you think. The link to the puzzle is at the top of my home page. The puzzle is pretty small, as puzzles go. What do you guys think is a good size? I think it should be bigger, but I'm not sure how much bigger. I'm thinking about having a weekly crossword puzzle (medical), but I wanted to get some input first. Let me know, both the good and the bad, k? Hope you like it! Guest guest
Rennie, I love it!! It's not too big so that it overwhelms me! If it were much bigger I'd never attempt it. PERFECT! Guest guest
Well, that's 2 votes so far for the same size! Was it too hard or too easy or just right? (Sounds like the 3 Bears story, huh?!) Guest guest
It was challenging to me, but might not be to experienced folks. I never had to guess a whole word but did use reveal letter quite a bit. However, since I was just checking it out, I didn't look up things up like I usually do. Ok, I cheated a bit! <g> Can you make it tell you if a single word is right immediately when you finish that word? Even a letter? Either would be a cool addition! Thanks for making it! Guest guest
Enjoyed the puzzle. The size was good for me, and the heart shape was cute. I tried to make it difficult with the ear pain question. LOL That's me...Make things more difficult than they have to be. If you have a different one every week, is there going to be a certain day you change it? Thanks for letting us try this out. Guest guest
The software has lots of features, and I haven't check them all out yet. I'll see if it has that option. Thanks! Guest guest
Glad you liked it! There are lots of shapes to choose from in the software, which is kind of cool! Once I get rolling with it, yes, I will probably change it either on Saturday or Sunday. I need to take the time to add more clues to the database. Adding words is no problems, it's adding all the clues that takes time. Once I get a full database, creating the puzzle itself doesn't take that long. Guest guest
Rennie- I liked the crossword puzzle. It was a good size, maybe a little bigger. I liked the fact that you mixed some harder terms (at least for me. I had to look some up) and some easier terms (ear pain). Just helped me realize that sometimes when you are looking for a term, it does'nt always have to be a " technical " medical term. When I realized what word I was looking for, I had a " duh " momment. LOL. . > I recently added a medical crossword puzzle to my website. If you get a chance, check it out and let me know what you think. Guest guest
Actually, if you click on " letter verify " after you have entered any letter, you will know it's correct if the computer doesn't do anything. Thanks, Rennie. I had fun even though I had to cheat a lot to finish it... (including the ear pain one!) Guest guest
, I don't find that weird at all. The weird thing to me is that I like writing about that stuff but if I actually saw it, I'd probably pass out. I could never be a nurse or doctor because touching people just creeps me out. Guest guest
Thanks, , et al. I'll hopefully be putting a new puzzle up next weekend. I appreciate all the feedback, guys! Rennie www.renesue.com PS. Yeah, I THOUGHT the " ear pain " one would get to y'all! LOLOL Re: Re: Medical Crossword Puzzle Rennie, I just took a quick look at the crossword, but it looks great!! This would be a wonderful way to learn words, I love crosswords and they always stick in my head better when it is through a game then just by constant drill, I hope you will post some more!!!! Guest guest
Rennie, I like it just as it stands. It's short enough to do in one quick sitting and challenging enough to make you pull out at least one reference book. Thanks for offering it. Guest guest
I too like watching ER. I pick up on terms that I recognize and new terms. I have even gone so far as to have my Taber's in front of me when I watch so I can look up words I am not familiar with. Am I weird? I now even watch those shows on TLC with the real-life ER drama. > > > > Ever since I started my course, I have been reading (for pleasure) only > > medical novels and mysteries..Robin Cook, Crichton, and many others with > > medical details.
