Guest guest
We almost lost JD today. It has been a long day for and I both physically and emotionally. Yesterday JD was having a lot more secretions and drooling around his mouth. His heartrate was up around 180 to 200 and he just looked like he was in pain. We know that he has been teething so we gave him some Tylenol. He did better and slept through out the night. On the weekend we have a night nurse and she left at am this morning. She told us that JD's stats were not above 92 and he usually is around 95-100%. At 6:15 I was already ready for work and saw that JD was starting to destat and got all the way down to 65% within seconds. He would never get above 80% and so and I put him on the vent, started oxygen and then changed his trach out. Nothing was working. The doctor was called and said that we could do extra treatments on him because he could have a plug. Our day nurse arrived at 7am and did the treatments. By 7:15 I called work and said that I would not be coming in for a few hours, thinking that everything would be okay. JD was not getting any better and so we were bagging him. We called 911 and got the careflight to come by. They called the Helicopter to come to Waxahachie and take us to Children's Medical in Dallas. I rode with JD but had to be in the stretcher and they put JD on me for me to hold him. I got to help bag him. We got to the ER and JD still needed some oxygen but not alot and he didn't need the vent. Which that part is very good? There were some blood work and x-rays done. We got to his room around 2:30 and he would be staying for a couple of days. Three weeks ago he got a bacteria infection in his trach and so he has it again along with possibly a viral infection. and I decided to go on home to get some sleep and get Olivia. I will be back up early in the morning to see the doctors. Please keep us in our prayers. & , parents to twins: Olivia and JD(cHArgE: Choanal Atresia, Heart Repair, TE-F Repair, G-Tube, Trach , Hernia Repair , severe to profound hearing loss, OFF the VENT ) 14 months , Waxahachie, Texas
