Guest guest
Hi to everyone, I don't post often, but always read the posts and find a lot of support and ideas and recipes. Thanks to all. In January of 2003, my New Year's resolution was (of course) to lose weight. I was at an all time high for me weighing 164 pounds. I am 5'5 " , but have a very tiny bone structure, so any additional weight for me really shows. And I am 54 years old. I had been very thin as a teenager and as a young adult I did follow exercise programs so I did pretty well keeping my weight down, UNTIL I got in my 40 " s. Those of you who are there know what I mean. I used to be able to lose those " few extra " pounds quickly, but NO MORE. The only good part about gaining weight was that I used to always be flat chested (sorry guys) and now I was even getting big there! OK. Fast forward to Jan. 2003. I weighed 164 and started dieting on my own and lost some weight, but nothing was structured, neither my diet or exercise program. So in July of 2003 I joined WW. I weighed in at 153 that day. I set my WW goal at 136, but my personal goal was 128. I reached my WW goal in December that year and lifetime in Feb. 2004. I have weighed in (officially at ww) anywhere from 133.9 to 137.2 from then until now. I kept telling myself I wanted to lose a few more pounds, but didn't do the work. Well, after New Year's this year for some reason I got re-inspired and yesterday at my meeting I weighed 132.4, my lowest ever there. I have weighed 130.5 several times on my scale which is exactly the same as theirs, so there is hope. What am I doing different? Making sure to measure all portions again, eat a lot of low point soups or bocca burgers for lunch, if I am still hungery after I've finished my dinner, I will have a second helping of veggies, rather than the meat or carbs. I also really enjoy a few glasses of wine, which I have really cut down on. So I am hoping to keep up the momentum so I can reach my personal goal of 128 by the time we leave for vacation in March. I am totally NOT trying to brag, just excited that I finally got the motivation to reach a little further. Good luck to all of you on this journey to fitness and good health.
