Guest guest
Hi, Drug s/l prantor 2.5 mg. No indication given. This is a female cardiac patient. Fosamax 70 mg one pill weekly. In this situation, do you do it as 1 pill or one pill. I could not find specific reference in BOS (maybe I am unable to find). Thanks. Deepika. Guest guest
Deepika, I would use the numeral 1 just because BOS says a general rule is to use numerals unless Roman numerals are specified. Guest guest
I use numbers in dosages unless two numbers denoting different things are next to each other (and could thus cause them to be misread). Examples: Prescription written for #30 one or two q.4h. p.r.n. Patient takes 15 mg 1 or 2 q.4h. p.r.n. That's just me though. Guest guest
Rennie, Not just you - M-TEC teaches the same format. :-) They strictly adhere to the BOS, but I couldn't find this instance in there any place. Guest guest
It's in the new BOS, page 277, adjacent #s. Guess I'll have to add that page # to my 3 x 5 card Jan jantranscribes@...
