Holding BMs

Yep. is still on Senecote and stool softeners daily. He can easily

go 4 or 5 days between stools and I worry about his colon being stretched

(like it's not already). He has NEVER had a bowel movement at school (he's

almost 13!). When he was little he just said " the poo poos don't want to

come out at school " . Now I think he won't at school because he won't have

someone to follow up on wiping him (big issue here). I also think that he

doesn't go until he is completely full inside and that is when he gets the

feeling he has to go. When he goes, it's a very large amount. I know

another parent who's son does this too.

OH YES.....when jenna just was just about

4 years old...she started that..it was really

bad...then when she would go, they were SO hard,

and SO big.(gross)...but at one point it got so

bad, i took her into the doc, he xrayed her and

he said she really needed an enema...oh what fun

that was..(but when it was over, the look on her face

was priceless..lol)...but i had to do it about a

good 2-3 weeks, before she became normal again...

She still talks about that...she calls it " medicine " ..

she says " no medicine, big girl, go on potty chair " ...

She know where the bottles of those are at Walmart..and

has to check them if we go down that isle.

But since then, she has never had a problem again...

I hope it doesn't come down to an enema for you.

good luck~

Annmarie has been constipated since she started solid food. When I took

her off dairy it improved for a couple of weeks, but now she is right

back where we started from. Hard little marble poops that hurt her

bottom. :-(

In Peru they swear by papaya juice, and it seems to work, but it is

pretty hard to come by here.

Grains can do this too. Have you tried GFCF?

is allergic to all grains and severely allergic to dairy.

Have you done any food allergy testing with her?

Man. This just started last month (when we were trying to get that

urine sample). He was holding everything for a while, but is doing

okay with urinating now...but we are still fighting with the BMs. He

went last night--first time since THURSDAY. I have a laxative that

the doctor called in, and would have given it this morning if he

hadn't gone last night...but this is getting to be a pattern...two or

three days without BMs. AND, he is wanting to do his business on the

living room floor---way not acceptable! So now he is living in his

jumpsuit...and we are staying up till midnight waiting for him to go,

because HE is waiting for me to let him take his clothes off so he

can go on the carpet.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

This reminds me of something that Donna says in her book

( " Exposure Anxiety " )...that she struggled to stay in control of her

life by not giving in to her body by helping it eliminate

wastes...that she just waited until it " just fell out " ---not her

responsibility.

This is so not fun...

Ewwwww! I cannot even imagine trying to give an enema. I'm

not sure it could be done, to tell the truth.

I do have a prescription laxative to use if I need to...so far he has

come through just in time. <whew>. I am going to call the doctor

today or tomorrow and see if they have any ideas...

We did change ' diet this past month or so...removed milk

products (which is supposed to help, as you say), and milled corn

(his beloved tortilla chips and most breakfast cereals). He was

having several fairly loose BMs every day before that...now I can't

get him to go often enough.

They aren't hard stools, though...usually fairly soft (sorry,

guys)...which is why I think he is not going on purpose.

Thanks...I will look for it. He does like juice...might go for it.

This does not sound fun. I have no advice or ideas, just hope something

works out for you, Raena.

Like , Mr. Putt does not poop at school. He saves that for home

territory.
