Am I dealing with parasites?

Hello everyone,

My daughter has developed these following symptoms and I was wondering if she

got parasites..

- aggresive behavior (scratching, pinching) out of the blue

- throwing stuff (including her ipad..)

- ocd : turning on bathroom blower and flushing toilet

- mouthing inedible items

- night awakening and stay awake for 1 to 3 hrs

- difficult to fall assleep

- verbal stimming

We have never encountered parasite in the past, i mean from CDSA result that we

did in the past were always negative for parasites. she was treated with

metronidazole and bactrim when she was 3 but at that time test showed bad

bacteria.

I haven't done CDSA recently but did stool culture (genova) and it showed plenty

good bacteria, no yeast and no bad bacteria.

Do you think it is better for me to do test first before treatment or i can just

go ahead treating them?

I would like to try natural product first before going into antibiotic, can you

please advise me a good product?

A quick update from our valtrex experience..After I stopped hbot, i saw that her

aggression decreased a bit. when i increased the dose to 500 mg/day, i saw her

behavior went crazy after 1 hr of taking the third dose. She moved constantly

and started attacking me. she also had dark circle under her eyes while on

valtrex.

Dr Bock thought that the aggressive behavior was due to valtrex and he suggested

to stop.

So she is now not taking valtrex. she is still on ketoconazole 75 mg/day and

enhansa 150 mg/ day. Her weight is 55 lbs.

I appreciate if you can help me with the question re. Parasites. Many thanks in

advance.

It could be Parasites but sounds a lot like PANDAS. Www.pandasnetwork.org. Best of luck - RuthSent from my iPhone

Hi Tetty,

Aggression is more of a symptom of bacteria especially clostridia. We are

dealing with somewhat similar symptoms although the most recent CDSA did not

show bacterial overgrowth and OAT suggested yeast. When we treat yeast,

clostridia can go crazy as their competitors are dying. Which probiotic are you

using? In our case,my son's aggresion decreased after I increased the culturelle

to three caps a day. Depending on the probiotic you are using, you can try

increasing the dose. We are also using enhansa and 150 mg/day was definitely not

enough. The pharmacist at Lee Silsby suggested 300 mg twice a day but that was

not enough for my son and he is 67 pounds. I increased the dose to 300 mg three

times a day and his symptoms showed significant improvement. Curcumin dose

should atleast be around 1000 mg/day to get benefits. Although the aggression is

better now, we are dealing with resistance to change, ocd in bath where he is

always trying to put shampoo in a certain way. He cannot wait for anything and

gets extremely anxious when his school bus stops for other kids or if we stop at

lights. I have increased magnesium glycinate to 100 mg three times a day with

some reduction in hyperactivity and it helps calm him overall. Epsom salt bath

will also help. I am thinking of repeating OAT test also to see what markers

come positive. Good luck.

Tetty,

We got aggresion from liver stress a couple of times, the one I remember the

most clearly was from the high dose Vit A protocol.

Tetty,

Forgot to mention, per the doc we went off the high dose Vit A & added on extra

liver supports & it left within a short time. Here's Dr Amy D's TACA PowerPoint

slide on Liver Supports in case you're interested:

Liver Support:

(Suspect this is needed when the bowels are sluggish and your child is not

tolerating any medications and is sensitive to most supplements and foods)

– Dandelion Root

– Ultrathistle (milk thistle product that is easier to absorb)

– Liver Life by BioRay (www.bioray2000.com)

– Castor oil packs over the liver with heat for up to 50 minutes daily

– Coffee enemas, especially when Herxing (not on very young children)

– Ensuring regular bowel movements

– Treating candida/yeast

– Phosphatidyl Choline and Glutathione

– Designs for Health PaleoCleanse or Amino D-tox

– Laser

Forgot to give you some suggestions for naturals....again, this is from Dr Amy

Derken's PowerPoint when so spoke at our TACA meeting (to add to her below

slides, we are also finding the surfactants are safely helping expel

parasites...you can see the recent post on the LIA group for 1 such example

that's been posted by na):

" Parasites:

Clinical signs of parasites

• Rashes on the chest or neck

• Discoloration around the mouth

• Males often have risky behaviors

• Aggravations around the full moon (bloating,

irritation, etc)

• Pimples on the head within the hair

(newer stool test from Metametrix uses a DNA

probe for better sensitivity)

My favorites for treating parasites

(the most difficult to lab test, but the first thing to treat)

• BioPure organic freeze dried garlic

• Rizol oils

• Artemesia pulsed in high doses 3 days on every 2-3 weeks

• Vermox/Mebendazole (100mg BID * 3days, then repeat

after 3 weeks)

• Biltricide (600mg TID for one day then repeat in 2-3 weeks)

• Alinia (prescription dose varies)

• YES Herbal liquid

• It seems to be very effective to follow prescription parasite

medications with homeopathic support "

Hi all,

Thanks for your input.

Rita, I will investigate your Ideas.

is,

I forgot to mention that she gets hungry more than usual and when she woke up at

night she asked for food. this is why i thought about parasite.

We are using theralac, probio gold and lactate free custom probiotic which i

rotate every 3 days. The doses is 2 caps a day and with custom probiotic 3

scoop.

I haven't been able to dilligently give the probiotics..i guess it is not

enough. Will take your suggestion to increase it. Thanks!

As for enhansa, i want to increase it slowly because in the past she became

irritable. when you increase the dose to twice a day, do you give one at

breakfast and one at

evening?

My daughter is also very anxious especially being outside of home. Very

sensitive to noise in particular the lawnmower.

I use magnesium citrate 450 mg at bed time and Cal Mag citrate at lunch..but it

did nothing to help her calm.

Any thoughts anyone?

I was also wondering what causes my spectrum boy who is 4 and after lysine for 2 mos showed great improvement,....why he sometimes chews his shirt at school,.....comes home with collar soaked. He is only on a multivitamin and melatonin, and mainly just has speech, developmental delays but his aggression and talking back is biggest issue. Although lately by the Grace of God has lessened. He continues to be my precious mystery, lol. Any ideas on the shirt chewing so appreciated, thanks all,Alisabeth at danandalisabeth@... Hi,

I think some people consider chewing due to excessive calcium. That was what i

read from the other group.

I’ve always heard zinc and gaba when chewing. Never do zinc and cal mag or calcium at same time—they affect each others’ absorption---I think—you’d have to check on that.

Hope it helps.

my dr. always has us just do zinc picolinate.

Hi Tetty,

I started with 2 caps of 150 mg once a day, then in three days increased to 2

caps of 150 mg twice a day. I continued on this dose for some time and then

increased the dose to 2 caps of 150 mg 3 times a day. It improved his eye

contact and speech. Our dan was recommending even a higher dose up to 1500 mg a

day but I will stay at 900 mg a day at least for some time now. You are doing

the right thing by increasing the curcumin dose gradually but do go up on the

dose as curcumin itself has anti inflammatory, antifungal and antibacterial

properties.

For magnesium, I recently started using magnesium glycinate 100 mg by klaire

labs as this is the best absorbed form of magnesium. I noticed that it reduces

hyperactivity but not so sure about anxiety. Increasing culturelle did help with

aggressive behavior though. Maybe it is a good idea to run an OAT test to see

what exactly going on with your little one. My son is extremely hungry also and

craves carbs and he is on nystatin for yeast. I will be repeating his OAT soon

too.

Honestly speaking, whenever my son was going through behaviors, no supplements

helped till I took care of the real issue. Good luck and let me know if I can be

of any help.

Regarding the shirt-collar-chewing: When we went on the GFCF diet, my daughter's

mouthing, chewing, and gnawing on everything stopped. I put away the chewtubes,

the chewelry, the dozen toothbrushes, ribbons, elastic bands, and all the crafty

braided things I had made for her to chew on. I smiled at the photos showing her

constantly gnawing on stuff, glad that those days were gone. Then, we stopped

the GFCF diet when she started preschool, so that she would eat whatever

everyone else was eating at snack time, and so now she eats whatever she wants

as long as it's healthy, and all the mouthing, chewing, and gnawing is back with

a vengeance. So, I dug out all the chewtubes, etc. and gave them back to her.

Her teacher requested some of the chewtubes for her to chew on at school, too,

so we gave the teacher some. She loves her cheese and yogurt, so I am thinking

that's the culprit. She doesn't care for starch or any baked goods. But she

loves crispy yogurt melts so much that they are now used as reinforcement both

at school and by the therapists that come to our house. So, I don't think we

could go back to casein-free, even though I wish we could. And on mornings when

she refuses to eat anything before school, yogurt is the only thing she'll eat.

And she is not fooled by soy yogurt, coconut yogurt or veggie cheese or all

those non-milk imitations. The only milk substitute product I am able to trick

her with is hemp milk, which she loves. Anyway, I think for my daughter the

reason that she chews on everything is the milk products.

Hi, I would recommend reading "Healing the new childhood epidemics" by kenneth bock m.d. Many agressive kids he has checked for PANDAS. Also, find a way to convince your pediatrician to order an open parasites test. I wouldn't relate it to autistic symptoms because he might be hesitant, just find a reason that you need one. Hi all,

Thanks for your input.

Rita, I will investigate your Ideas.

is,

I forgot to mention that she gets hungry more than usual and when she woke up at night she asked for food. this is why i thought about parasite.

We are using theralac, probio gold and lactate free custom probiotic which i rotate every 3 days. The doses is 2 caps a day and with custom probiotic 3 scoop.

I haven't been able to dilligently give the probiotics..i guess it is not enough. Will take your suggestion to increase it. Thanks!

As for enhansa, i want to increase it slowly because in the past she became irritable. when you increase the dose to twice a day, do you give one at breakfast and one at

evening?

My daughter is also very anxious especially being outside of home. Very sensitive to noise in particular the lawnmower.

I use magnesium citrate 450 mg at bed time and Cal Mag citrate at lunch..but it did nothing to help her calm.

Any thoughts anyone?

Tetty

She moved constantly and started attacking me. she also had dark circle under her eyes while on valtrex.
