Guest guest
Hey guys, My buddy has just been told by his instructors that the only ambulance clincials that he is going to be able to do is at the transfer service he works for. This service has about 15 units in service most of the time and they average about 4-5 " 911 " calls a week. That means that all of these students - aprox. 10-15 - will only have a chance to take people to doctor's appointments and take people back to the nursing home. There will be no chances to intubate, perform IV's, or even so much as backboard people. I'm not even in the class and it makes me mad, because alot of the student's have never worked at a 911 provider, and now they won't even be able to get the experience during clincials. I can not belive this, alot of these students who are friends of mine are getting ripped off. They were initially told that they would be getting to do clincials at some really good and aggressive 911 services in and around county. Now they are forced to do clinicals at the transfer service where some of them work. Their course coordinator left them to take a " higher paying job " within the company. Anyone think this is fair? I don't. Anyone with any helpful information on what my buddy can do to fix this- please reply. Thanks and stay safe!
