Hurricane Felix has gone from a minimal hurricane (F1) to a catastrophic level

(F5) in 24 hours. This is the fastest I have ever seen one evolve in 40 years of

intense observation of these storms.

The consensus track is showing it continuing WNW into Honduras - Belize -

Yucatan in 5 days, but this could be effected by a high pressure system over the

southern US that is showing signs of collapsing. If this happens, this will

create a hash of the models.

This could be an interesting week.

It also has one of the fastest sustained forward movement speeds I have seen

....it has been 18-21 mph for several days....Hopefully it won't lose too

much of that speed over the Yucatan

The faster it goes across land, the less energy and organization it loses.

Fast over the Yucatan would NOT be a good thing.

When it looses forward speed it would have a tendency to turn northward..

The faster it goes the straighter it goes (usually)
