Yesterday, after almost 2 years of going round and

round with DR,s and Endos, I finally was at the end of

even wanting or being able to try to feel better.

I was out of hope and wondering if I will ever be able

to do ANYTHING again. This monster truly brought me to

my knees. I honestly felt like dying was a better

option than continuing to live like this. Through

all of this, I have been seeing a psychiatrist for

depression. I finally asked my psych for some cytomel.

HE GAVE IT TO ME!!!!!!!!! If I had never been to

this room and heard people talking about cytomel, Even

I would not have asked someone for it because I didn't

know nothing about no cytomel, T3 or any other thing.

My Dr's sure as hell didn't mention anything further

than the Amour as far as treating my misery was

concerned. i couldn't get in to the other docs for

two months!!! You would think that people who are

that busy should have come across the most serious of

thyroid issues already and be more efficient with the

visit time. Anyway, I just want to tell everybody

that you CAN ask your shrink for cytomel. He knew

what it is and WHADDAYAKNOW! Cytomel can be prescribed

for depression. that was YESTERDAY. TODAY, I already

feel like myself again. After 2 ----ing years of

living in thyroid hell, My shring felt some compassion

for me and did what I ASKED HIM TO DO!!!!! my only

reason for not being more bitter is that through this

disease, I have been forced to look at my life - what

I want, what I CAN do and probably what I should have

done in my 20's as far as career goes. I am an Artist

who has gone Sooooooo far out of my way looking to

succeed at things I never relly wanted. The reason I

couldn't do it in my 20's was that I had no support

for such a career (you need ALOT of support do have a

career in art) The starving artist is a sad reality in

this time and place, or at least is was for me. Well,

and then I was too stupid to create any art worth

viewing anyway! Now, since I've gotten old and

knocked down hard for a couple of years, I have had to

be really honest with myself about what I want in my

life and what I just don't have the energy to deal

with anymore. When you are as sick as we all have

been, the list of priorities gets very short, but

very exact! THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR WISDOM AND FOR

SHARING IT WITH ME.

Sincerely,

Judy T

Hi Judy, YOU GO GIRL! I'm SO happy for you that you took the chance to ask your Psychiatrist and it paid off. Doing your own research and being persistent is the key...I've fired a few docs. I take T3 (like Cytomel) and it has helped me more than anything. YAY FOR JUDY!!! :o) M.judy tiernan wrote: Yesterday, after almost 2 years of going round andround with DR,s and Endos, I finally was at the

Good job on getting Cytomel from your psych!

It’s actually been used to treat depression and PTSD as he knew, way cool---

Way to go!

That's fantastic Judy! I hope it works out for you. I had no idea that shrink's could prescribe Cytomel but great to know! My 13 year old loves Art and has thought about that for a career. I told her that would be wonderful but to have a back up plan too. Best of luck! Lori

This is great to hear Judy!!!!!

Would you mind if I took it one step further?

Cytomel, T3, is of huge benefit for the entire body for hose of us that are poor converters.. Adding it to your system seems to get things jump started, allowing your body to work better all over.

It's important that it be taken correctly though.. and just cuz I'm the mother hen that I am.. .I'd like to ask how you have been set up for dosing it...

How much are you taking and in how many doses per day?

I've heard of docs that will prescribe too much in a single dose and it ends up defeating the purpose.. just want to make sure... we tend to watch each others' backs here...

*shy smile*

Personally T3 has been a key solution for me.. When on T4 only meds my health declined continuously for YEARS!
