Guest guest
My TSH level is still very high 85 and doctor wants more labs done and then having thyroid injections 3 or 4 times per week in the office. Has anyone heard of this and why?
Guest guest
Barb, I looked thru my archives and found this: Date: Sun, 11 Feb 2007 10:50:33 -0500 Subject: post 'surgery'... Post of 's I did not however know that T4 could be injected after surgery if you were unable to take your medication. So does this mean that there is a liquid version of T4? Hope this helps..... Guest guest
Yes.. they inject liquid T4 directly into the blood stream, it can be give IV too. My own personal preference would be to take Cytomel instead, it benefits the system immediately getting body function going right away and then while that is happening you have the time to let the T4 you are taking get into the tissues and the rest of the process continue. Whether taking T4 as a Tablet or a direct injection it still has to go through the same processes in that it needs to be taken into the tissues and eventually the conversion process.. so if taken by tablet over time or what amounts to massive doses via liquid injection the storage/conversion process is the same. IMHO of course.
