Hi Kathy...

Nope.. your post wasn't too long.. you gave us the info needed to get a

grasp of what is going on.. that's GOOD!

You want your TSH to be as low as possible.. with Hashi's that means near

zero.. so that is good.. what you are watching for now is that the

thyroid hormones are moving up... Free T3 should be at the top of it's

range and Free T4 should be at mid range, or slightly higher.

> FT4 1.6 (0.9-1.7)

Look at your last set of labs... TSH is low... Free T4 is high... Free T3

is near mid range... Free T4 is higher in it's range than Free T3 is in

its.. that means that your body isn't converting as efficiently as it

should...

Solutions there are to add T3, either by adding Armour or Cytomel to the

Synthroid or by dumping the Synthroid and going to Armour.

As far as antibodies... with a TSH as low as you have that could have

settled the antibodies down giving you a low reading.. so I dont' see

that as conclusive, yet.

As far as the Synthroid lasting... It's supposed to be good for one year

from the date you got it.. the Pharmacist is supposed to check that.

Unfortunately Synthroid, the brand, as a horrible reputation for poor

shelf life and potencies that don't match the labeled strength... Look at

the TSH levels and the last set of labs specifically though I'll look

closer at helping boost conversion or explore adding T3 before assuming

the bottle is bad...

IMHO, of course.

Kathy,

If you keep it on the night stand and light/heat gets to it, it can disintegrate the intregrity of it.

I have noticed that with all my meds – I have a “daily pill box” and sometimes don’t close the cap on a day’s worth and they seem to go bad...

sue

Can synthroid go bad? My current Rx of synthroid is for a 90 day

supply. I keep it in on the night stand by my bed so I can take it

first thing in the morning without forgetting it (since I am very

forgetful anymore these days. I was curious to see if that might be

a part of why I have been feeling even more run down than usual since

I made it to the end of my first 90 days on the synthroid. But then

again, what is with my labs!
