Guest guest
i keep reading about being fully optimized on armour and being totally suppressed on armour but doesn't this only apply to those that have Hashi's or don't have a thyroid anymore? i understand why you would want to suppress things. but what about those that still have their thyroid and don't have Hashi's? then how do you dose? according to symptoms or according to numbers? because you wouldn't want to suppress your thyroid in this case would you? i would think you would want to get the TSH to around 1 or slightly less correct? Guest guest
Yep.. that's why it's important to know the cause of the thyroid gland being low in function. 'Most healthy people' have a TSH of 1.25... that, again, for 'most people' sends enough of a signal to the thyroid to keep it purring along.. but.. the most important issue is the level of the thyroid hormones and symptoms... it's more important that enough replacement hormone be used to the levels of hormone in the blood and the symptoms at the right levels.... Suppression of the thyroid gland in this type case causes no damage to it... just allows it to sleep and then it kicks back in if needed. The addition of any thyroid hormone will cause a temporary drop in TSH and production until the body shifts though too...
