Guest guest
I was talking to Danny on here, as you will read, and I promised to put one of the questions that was once on the Texas Paramedic Certification Exam back in the '90s. That's the 1990's for you wags who were going to ask me if it was the 1890's. <g> Your patient is receiving dopamine infusion of 800 mg of dopamine in 500 ml normal saline through a 60 gtt set at a rate of 60 gtt/min. He weighs 176 pounds. How many mcg/kg/min is he receiving? a. 5 b. 7 c. 12 d. 20 If you're a paramedic, you should be able to work this out in your head in less than 30 seconds. If you're a nurse, it will take you approximately 18 minutes using your slide rule and 5 different calculators, two blackboards, and a book, and a nurse educator. If you're a physician, forgeddaboudit. You'll never have to figure it out. NO, no, no, I didn't mean that. Somebody please stop me before I kill again! LOL.
