I am pleased to announce that the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) has

been awarded the opportunity to administer the TxDOT EMS Education Grants for

the coming year. The difference this year is that we will provide grant funding

opportunities throughout the entire state.

As in years past, this grant will provide subsidy for instructional salaries and

travel related expenses for Agencies seeking to provide EMS Education within

their jurisdiction to include, ECA, EMT, EMT Completion, Intermediate,

ITLS(BTLS), PHTLS and Continuing Education hours. Additional guidelines and

grant eligibility information will be coming out soon as well as being made

available on a website. We expect funds to be available, most likely mid to late

October, but this is subject to change/delay. All courses completed under this

grant must be started after receiving an official award letter from TEEX and

must be completed by 30 September.

Please assess your training needs now, particularly if you reside in a county

designed as rural or frontier. When the grant applications are made available

you will need to provide us with information to include:

Course Type

Proposed instructional staff to include all relevant contact information

Course location

What agencies will be represented in the course

What your normal fees for a class of this type is and what you will be charging

the students attending through the grant

How many students you will have in the program

If you have questions, please feel free to contact me offline.
