Guest guest Posted August 19, 2007 Report Share Posted August 19, 2007 Texas Department of State Health Services NEWS RELEASE August 19, 2007 Toll-Free Number Announced for Displaced Dialysis Patients Kidney dialysis patients who may be evacuating from Texas coastal areas in advance of Hurricane Dean can call toll-free to locate dialysis services en route or in the areas to which they have evacuated. The emergency locator service will begin at 8 a.m. Monday and will be operational round-the-clock. The service is provided by the Texas End Stage Renal Disease Network and the Texas End Stage Renal Disease Emergency Coalition. Dialysis patients also are encouraged to receive dialysis from their regular providers shortly before evacuating and to heed fluid-intake and dietary precautions.
