Guest guest
I just don't know what to think. I waited again all day for a call from my doc, swinging back and forth between calling and being demanding, and thinking, well, maybe it'll be in the mail or else it just doesn't say much at all. What the heck is on an u/s report anyway? I wonder if there could have been a change of mind in terms of type of biopsy or something. At any rate, I find I am very very angry however, I mean, if this were for some wound stitching I wouldn't expect her to call, but we're talking possible CA and I would think she'd have the decency to call once!!!!!!!!! Especially since I've called 2 times in the past 3 days. I'm just agitated and nervous. We're to have a very bad snowstorm all tomorrow into Fri, and I go for the biopsy at 1 on Fri, but good thing I take the bus, as they can plow through anything. However, I don't want to go thinking I'm having an aspiration bpsy and find out its another type. I need to be ready for any answers. Or whatever. DOes anyone remember their biopsies and whether or not they had a 'clue' after what they might be dealing with? I'm so mad, I really really think I have this sweet doc and always have since I've lived here, about 10 years. Yet I'm furious. I will leave a message for the nurse tomorrow and get a little relief I suppose. Well, glad I could aire it out here, so tiref of it all, can't think straight yet. Can't deal with this huge unknown. Thanks for all your support. Pat Have a great day!

Guest guest
I had a similar experience w/ doctors not getting back to me. I had a biopsy the day before Thanksgiving. Since the lab workers had off Thurs. and Fri. for the holiday, the doctor said I should hear something Monday. Monday came, nobody called me. I left a message late Monday afternoon. Tuesday morning I called the office again and talked to the nurse who wasn't authorized to give out any info. An hour later the doctor called me back and said he hadn't called me Monday because he had had an emergency. I was so angry, I couldn't even say anything polite. I couldn't say anything at all. When he told me the biopsy only showed DCIS, but that he thought it was probably DCIS and another kind of cancer too as DCIS sometimes co-exists w/ other cancers, I started to cry. It wasn't so much that I was upset that I had cancer, it was just all the stress of waiting and finally HEARING the bad news. After 6 days of waiting, I just couldn't hold it in anymore. Waiting was the worst part for me. I hope you get answers soon. > > I just don't know what to think. Guest guest
I must be incredibly lucky...my doctor performed the first biopsy in her office. Then, when the results came back saying no cancer, she didn't believe it, set up another biopsy in the hospital, and then scheduled an appointment with me to go over the results. No impersonal phone call, but a real face to face, heart to heart, and woman to woman discussion about what was going on with me. I feel so blessed. Guest guest
My goodness!!! A biopsy is only supposed to take 24 hours and they Should be able to call on weekends!! I'm scheduled for tomorrow, I called for a 4th day this am and finally she called me. But she didn't say much, only like it's 50/50. So I just have to calm down and just get through it. She helped me relax thinking because I've had so many cysts and so many drained maybe its just a bunch of old dead cells. WHo knows? She said I might know before her. Well, if fluid comes out, I'll feel relieved, though it feels firm. However, I will have to trudge through a blizzard I guess they're saying now, but I'm going. I'll make it anything. Already got a foot of snow and 9-12 " more to come. Sigh, I used to live in upstate, NY, so saw lots of snow. At least it's not -30 windchill, that is when I think its hard. Well, I'll let you all know what happens tomorrow, its at 1. Thanks again, I appreciate the support. Pat Re: is no news good news? I had a similar experience w/ doctors not getting back to me. Guest guest
Oh, I'm from upstate NY where they had the 141 " snow, very used to it! I have no clue how much we have, been preoccupied with so many other things (even painting!). Might be a blizzard in the am though, I heard something about 60mph winds, hope not in the cities. I go by bus though, and its way above 0 (20-30) and that's warm here, So really all I worry about are my feet, my boots are old, cracked and water leaks in. Though they're hiking boots, I love them. Thanks, I should go to bed, I've been up way too late tonight. I'll report in when I get back. Thanks. Pat Re: is no news good news? I had a similar experience w/ doctors not getting back to me. Guest guest
Thanks, they already are, in that I've managed to calm myself down and play with weather radios and do some painting today. I kept busy every second, forgetting to eat until I almost fell over. But I'll be glad to get it over, and I suppose get home too. Do have to stop and shop for a few things and will be such a horrid day. Must take my camera. Get on CNN. Ha. Talk tomorrow. Pat Re: is no news good news?
