Guest guest
Hello everyone. It's been awhile since I've visited. I finished all my chemo in October and radiation in January. I started Arimedex soon after. My problem is..I always thought I was HER2 pos. I remember being told I was pos. Resently I found a lab report and I am HER2 neg. Some people are telling me that with a neg HER2 I don't need Arimedex. However some people are telling me I do. I've read up on the drug and I think I confused myself even more. I finally have new oncologist but my first appointment isn't until May. (** as you may recall I had problems with my oncologist.I was unable to change oncologist as I had started treatment already and no dotor in the state could give an immediate or early appointment. There was a minimum of 3 1/2 months on their waiting lists. So I toughed it out.) I'm hopeing some one can help me figure this out. I still don't know what the heck Arimedex is suppose to do and what difference pos or neg makes.
Guest guest
If you are estrogen positive, that means the cancer is fed by estrogen. Arimidex effectively deprives the body of 80% of the estrogen, it produces, thereby depriving any remaining cancer of its estrogen supply.
