Guest guest
I had my 6 month post op check-up with the surgeon. He said everything healed nicely from the radiation and lumpectomy (no chemo) and told me that I don't have to get a follow-up mamo until next October- which would be a year from the last mamo and surgery. I was quite surprised. I am on tamoxifen now- with no side effects so far. (I had non-invasive DCIS) How long did you wait for post follow-up mamo's? Just curious. Meanwhile, I am home with a sinus infection and feeling worse than I did from the lumptectomy. When I was at the surgeon, he wouldn't even check to see if I had an infection, since I started feeling crappy earlier in the day. I had to go to my primary care doctor and wait again in another doctor's office. The surgeon told me that he couldn't diagnoise me. I was quite annoyed. Also-nne- sorry to hear about the passing of your friend. ((((Hugs))))) Eileen
Guest guest
Hi Eileen, I had a left mastectomy and a 6-month follow-up mammo on my right side, then in 6 months I had my annual. After that they said I was back to an annual mammo schedule. I'm not surprised your surgeon sent you to your primary for your sinus. I have 3 doctors (primary, surgeon, onc), and it's pretty clear who handles what. -

Guest guest
> Eileen , they should do a baseline mammo now and then one every 6 months on the affected side and every year on teh unaffected side. i would definitely talk to another dr about this and schedule a mommo soon, sheri > I had my 6 month post op check-up with the surgeon.
